🎉 The celebration of Nutrition Month 2025 in Barangay Salvacion, Saguday, Quirino was a meaningful and memorable event that highlighted the vital importance of food and nutrition security in our community. 💚

With the theme:
“Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority — Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin,”
we reaffirmed our collective responsibility to promote health, well-being, and equitable access to nutritious food for all. 🌾🍽️

The celebration featured a series of enriching and spirited activities, including:

👑 Mr. & Ms. Nutri-Costume 2025 – a showcase of creativity and advocacy through fashion

🎨 Coloring Contest – sparking awareness among our young learners

💐 Healthy Bouquet – blending beauty and nutrition in one artistic display

Barangay Salvacion Kicks Off 2025 Nutrition Month with Unity and Purpose.

Barangay Salvacion proudly launched its 2025 Nutrition Month Celebration today with a symbolic tarpaulin hanging ceremony, officially marking the beginning of a month-long advocacy dedicated to health, nutrition, and community well-being.

Led by the Barangay Nutrition Committee, the event began with the unveiling of the official Nutrition Month banner—an emblem of the barangay’s continued commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles and informed food choices. A photo session followed, capturing the unity and dedication of local leaders and volunteers as they stand together in support of this year’s theme and goals.

This kickoff event is just the first of many initiatives scheduled throughout July, all designed to educate, empower, and engage the community in the fight against malnutrition and diet-related diseases. From health talks and feeding programs to wellness activities and educational drives, Barangay Salvacion is determined to make nutrition everyone’s priority.

Together, let us nourish lives, strengthen communities, and build a healthier future for all.

On September 17, 2024, Barangay Salvacion successfully launched the "Purokalusugan" initiative. This program aims to improve healthcare service delivery at the grassroots level, enhancing and developing health facilities and systems to ensure that all Filipinos have access to inclusive, comprehensive, and affordable healthcare services.

The launch of Purokalusugan underscored a significant commitment to better health outcomes, stronger health systems, integrated health initiatives, and enhanced collaboration among key community stakeholders.

As part of this initiative, an X-ray caravan was also conducted to assess the community's risk for tuberculosis. This mobile health service not only aimed to identify individuals at risk but also provided immediate access to diagnostic services, education on tuberculosis prevention, and information on available treatments. By bringing these essential health services directly to the community, the caravan played a crucial role in raising awareness about tuberculosis and reinforcing the importance of early detection and intervention.

In response to the alarming increase in dengue cases in Barangay Salvacion, our barangay officials, barangay tanods, lupons, and barangay healthcare workers conducted "Oplan Taob" and initiated comprehensive dengue surveillance activities to address this pressing health concern.

"Oplan Taob" is a proactive initiative which aims to eliminate potential mosquito breeding sites throughout our barangay. This involves thorough inspections and cleaning of areas where mosquitoes might breed, such as stagnant water containers, discarded tires, and other potential sites.

Barangay Salvacion's Aksyon Barangay Kontra Dengue Campaign

Tag-ulan na nman, dahil dito mataas ang posibilidad ng pgdami ng mga kaso ng dengue. Maging maingat at protektahan ang ating mga sarili sa sakit n dulot ng lamok na ngdadala ng dengue.

Ang dengue ay maaaring mgdulot ng malalang kalagayan, ngunit maari natin bawasan ang panganib na dulot nito sa ating kalusugan sa pamamagitan ng proaktibong hakbang kagaya ng search and destroy mosquito breeding places.

Let us commit to keeping out community safe and healthy by following these strategies to control and prevent dengue.
