π’ PUBLIC HEALTH ADVISORY: CONFIRMED MPOX CASES IN DAVAO CITY

The Davao City Health Office (CHO), through the Department of Health β Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (DOH RESU), has confirmed two (2) cases of monkeypox (mpox) as of April 16, 2025. The patients were admitted to the SPMC isolation facility. Sadly, one patient has passed away due to complications.
The CHO is actively conducting contact tracing and has implemented all appropriate response measures to prevent further spread.
π‘ PacificMD Medical Clinic reminds everyone to stay calm and strictly observe the following preventive measures against mpox:
1οΈβ£ Avoid close or intimate skin-to-skin contact (e.g. kissing, hugging, cuddling, or sexual contact) with individuals suspected or confirmed to have mpox. Caregivers must wear appropriate PPE when necessary.
2οΈβ£ Practice frequent hand hygiene using alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.
3οΈβ£ Regularly clean and disinfect surfaces that may be contaminated.
4οΈβ£ Avoid contact with potentially infected animals. Be cautious of pets or wild animals exhibiting rash, fever, or lethargy.
