One switch. New sound. New life.

On November 7, 2025, we witnessed more than just the first SWITCH ON: Cochlear Implant Eventโ€”we witnessed the beginning of a new sound-filled chapter in our patientโ€™s life.

Held at the Dietary Conference Room in partnership with Gruppo Hearing, our department had the privilege of sharing the emotional moment when silence was replaced with sound, hope, and possibility.

This event was spearheaded by our Chairman and the Head of Neuro-otology, Dr. Ruben Emil D. Henson, together with Dr. Roannie Castaรฑeda and Dr. Benedict P. Lagman, whose dedication continues to push forward the boundaries of hearing care in our institution.

The Department of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery proudly held its 1st In-House Endoscopic Sinus Surgery Simulation Workshop last August 29, 2025 at the Ortho Building, Trauma Conference Room. Using molded sinus models, the workshop provided residents with valuable hands-on experience in advanced surgical techniques. This event was spearheaded by Dr. Joman Laxamana, our Head of Rhinology, together with Dr. Eleanor Bernas.
