MEDICAL RECORDS MANAGEMENT TRAINING AT WASMI

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) successfully conducted its Records Management Training in collaboration with Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center as Subject Matter Experts on February 18, 2026.

The training covered essential topics including the Data Privacy Act and its Principles, Basic Records Management, Filing and Retrieval of Health Records, and Records Disposition Administration, and an overview of International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision. These discussions further strengthen our commitment to compliance, confidentiality, and efficient records handling.

This initiative forms part of WASMI’s continuous efforts in preparation for Department of Health Licensing. WASMI looks forward to more meaningful collaborations and strengthened partnerships in the future!

WASMI PARTICIPATES IN VIRTUAL CBRN TRAINING

WASMI attended the US-RP Joint CBRN (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear) Virtual Training for Medical Service Personnel on February 12, 2026.

The said training provided valuable insights on CBRN awareness, proper response protocols, and protective measures in handling potential CBRN-related incidents. This initiative has the concept of operation for the Armed Forced of the Philippines (AFP) Health Service CBRN capability development to partner with major services and special operation units to develop its capability.

WASMI remains dedicated to continuous learning and capability enhancement for the benefit of its personnel and the community they serve while ensuring a safe and secure working environment.

WASMI FACILITATED STANDARD FIRST AID AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT TRAINING TO PMA STUDENTS

Mr. Rolando M. Tullao Jr., Civ HR, and Ms. Vi Frances F. Laynesa, Civ HR, in collaboration with skilled personnel from various Medical Treatment Facilities, spearheaded comprehensive Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support training for Philippine Military Academy cadets from February 9-13, 2026.

The intensive training covered critical areas such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), wound care and bandaging techniques, safe lifting and carrying methods for patient transport, and effective response strategies for mass casualty incidents (MCI). By equipping these future officers with essential medical skills and emergency response capabilities, we enhance their readiness to protect and serve our nation, ensuring they are prepared to act decisively and save lives in any situation.

WASMI RECEIVED AN ADULT MANIKIN FROM OCNAF

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) received an adult manikin specifically designed for Standard First Aid (SFA) and Basic Life Support (BLS) training, generously provided by the Office of the Chief Nurse Air Force (OCNAF) on February 13, 2026. This valuable addition to WASMI's training equipment will significantly enhance the skills and preparedness of its medical personnel to respond effectively to a wide range of medical emergencies.

With the new manikin, WASMI's staff will be able to participate in realistic simulations of scenarios requiring SFA and BLS interventions, including CPR, airway management, bleeding control, and other essential life-saving techniques. This hands-on training will ensure that medical personnel are well-versed in the latest protocols and best practices for emergency medical care, ultimately leading to improved patient outcomes and a more resilient community. WASMI STRENGTHENS DIAGNOSTIC CAPABILITIES THROUGH NEW MEDICAL EQUIPMENT

The Wallace Air Station Medical Infirmary (WASMI) is proud to announce the procurement of additional diagnostic equipment that are now available for use in its facility!

The machines that have been procured are Laboratory Electronic Weighing Scale, Immunofluorescence Analyzer, Microhematocrit Centrifuge, and Biochemistry Analyzer under the Laboratory Branch. Also, an additional Electrocardiogram (ECG) Machine is now already in use at the Heart Station. These newly acquired equipment were made possible through the invaluable support and assistance of the Higher Headquarters of the Philippine Air Force, whose continued commitment has significantly contributed to the strengthening of WASMI’s healthcare services. The equipment will be utilized primarily in support of the Mandatory Annual Physical Examination (MAPE) and to comply with the requirements for Department of Health (DOH) licensing.

WASMI aims to provide quality and excellent healthcare services to the PAF military personnel, their dependents, the Civilian Human Resource, and other authorized civilians of Wallace Air Station by continuously upgrading and strengthening its capabilities through new equipment.
