Sweet learning, one popsicle at a time 🍭🍦☀️

Our stellar students practiced auditory processing through following procedures and answering questions, while also exploring creativity and retelling experiences using summer-themed vocabulary words. And of course, the fun wouldn’t be complete without enjoying real yummy popsicles after! Learning always feels extra special when it’s this fun. ✨

A simple activity with so many hidden skills ✨

Today’s obstacle course and matching activity worked on balance, coordination, problem solving, and visual discrimination as he carefully crossed the stepping stones and searched for the correct puzzle pieces.
We also practiced fine motor skills through picking up and placing pieces, and followed multi-step verbal instructions. Throughout the activity, we also worked on slowing down, thinking before acting, and showed goal-directed persistence by sticking with the task step by step instead of rushing through.

Shake It ‘Til We Make It ✨🍫🥛

From filling out order forms to pouring, blending, adding toppings, and drizzling, we practiced following procedures, taking turns, waiting, answering questions, and working together.

And yes… the milkshake spilled and shocked everyone. 🌋🤭 But that became part of the learning too: problem solving, figuring out what went wrong, correcting it, and cleaning up afterwards.
Hands-on learning + a sweet treat at the end = the best kind of weekend! 🤎

We work with kids on handwriting skills and they show great work in OT sessions...but how is it so hard for them to carryover those skills into the classroom or on homework?
