OLMCMC is proud to introduce our new clinician, Dr. Joelle Kristine I. Dela Cruz, a highly skilled Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgeon now part of our growing medical team!

Dr. Dela Cruz brings a wealth of specialized knowledge to our institution, having completed an International Fellowship Program in Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital in Shanghai, China.

She also underwent intensive training through the Integrated Fellowship Training Program in Thoracic, Cardiac, and Vascular Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas Hospital.

Her distinguished medical background includes:
Academic Excellence: She earned both her Doctor of Medicine and her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from the University of Santo Tomas.

Global Recognition: An active contributor to surgical research, she has presented her work on Innominate Vein Reconstruction and Arteriovenous Fistulas at international forums such as the Veith Symposium in New York.

Advanced Certifications: She is certified in Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and has completed specialized training in Ultrasound for Surgeons.

Professional Affiliations: She is a member of the Philippine College of Surgeons and an associate member of the Philippine Society for Ultrasound in Surgery.

With her dedication to innovative surgical techniques and patient-centered care, Dr. Dela Cruz is committed to providing world-class cardiovascular and thoracic services to our community.

🩺 World Kidney Day 2026: A Day of Health, Awareness, and Care 🩺

In celebration of World Kidney Day, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Medical Center successfully held a meaningful event dedicated to promoting kidney health and wellness for the Carmelian community.

Participants were able to avail themselves of free health services, including vital signs checking, random blood sugar testing, creatinine testing, and urinalysis, helping raise awareness on the importance of early detection and proper kidney care. A bloodletting activity was also conducted, with special giveaways and gifts prepared for our generous blood donors as a token of appreciation. Guests also enjoyed taking photos at the photobooth, capturing memorable moments from the event.

An informative health discussion on understanding kidney disease was led by Dr. Marc Angelo Hizon, Head Nephrologist of the Hemodialysis Unit. He was joined by Cris Angelica Cortes, Head Dietitian of the Medical Nutrition Department, who shared valuable insights on kidney-friendly diets and proper nutrition for better kidney health.

The celebration continued in the afternoon with an energetic Zumba session, led by a Zumba instructor and enthusiastically attended by staff members from different departments. The activity concluded with the selection of the Top 3 Best Dancers, adding excitement and fun to the day’s celebration.

Ngayong World Kidney Day, panoorin si Dra. Janella Rose Briones, isang Nephrologist, habang ibinabahagi niya ang mahahalagang kaalaman kung paano natin mas mapapangalagaan ang ating mga bato at maiwasan ang sakit sa kidney.

🌸 Buntis Day 2026 Celebration 🌸

A joyful and meaningful Buntis Day 2026 was successfully held at San Antonio de Padua Hall, College of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Expectant mothers gathered for a day filled with learning, fun, and celebration of motherhood.

This special event was organized with the support of the Obstetrics and Gynecology department along with its’ Residency Training Program, led by Chairman Dr. Anne Lacsamana and Training Officer Dr. Angelica Muñoz, together with OB consultants Dr. Eva Bansil and Dr. Angela Batac.

Our inspiring speakers, Dr. Emiciel Alta Cajucom-Gigante and Dr. Geraldine Hope Deang-Gutierrez, shared valuable insights about pregnancy care and the importance of oral health during pregnancy, helping our moms-to-be stay informed and healthy. Participants also received free vitamin samples to support their prenatal health.

The highlight of the event was the “Gandang Buntis” Pageant, celebrating the beauty, strength, and confidence of our pregnant moms. The pageant judges included Dr. Tosca Guiao, Ms. Ma. Bernadette Lucia B. Briones, and Mr. Ador Ronald Angelo K. Muñoz, who helped make the event even more special.

To make the day even more exciting, attendees enjoyed a raffle draw, free ice cream, and special gifts for our wonderful mothers.
