Patient has a progressively enlarging upper back mass which is causing him discomfort. Base on history, physical examination and the ultrasound report that he brought with him during his consultation, this was diagnosed as a case of LIPOMA.

Patient underwent Excision Biopsy of Lipoma (posterior thorax)
Status: discharged and improved 👍🏼

Hindi lahat ng bukol o tumor ay cancer o malignant.

Kapag ang bukol o tumor ay kahina-hinala, kailangan munang ibiopsy ng isang surgeon upang malaman ang uri nito, kung ito ay benign (non-cancerous) o malignant (cancer).

Kapag ito ay benign (non-cancerous), maaaring bantayan o imonitor lamang ito maliban na lang kung may kasamang sintomas tulad ng pananakit, nagdudulot ng di-kumportableng pakiramdam o posisyon, nakaka-apekto sa pisikal na anyo o sa pang-araw-araw na mga gawain.

Walang gamot, herbal, o supplements na nakakatunaw sa mga ganitong bukol o tumor sa halip ay operasyon ang kailangan.

Kapag ito ay kanser, kailangan kumonsulta at ipatingin ito sa mga espesyalista upang mabigyan ng tama at wastong gamutan. Mahalagang magpatingin sa doktor upang mabigyan ng tamang payo.

Patient has recurrent episodes of right upper abdominal pain, and bloatedness. Ultrasound done and showed the gallbladder lumen entirely occupied by numerous high level echoes casting posterior acoustic shadowing (gallstones).

Patient was advised immediate surgery and because of her co-morbidity’s (Rheumatoid Arthritis on steroids) risks of delayed wound healing and higher risk for systemic infections, minimally invasive surgery is the preferred option.

Patient underwent Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.
Status: discharged and improved 👍🏼

Ang F***l Immunochemical Test (FIT) ay itinuturing na unang hakbang na pagsusuri para sa Colorectal Cancer Screening. Ito ay para malaman kung mayroong dugo sa ating dumi na hindi nakikita ng ating mga mata. Ito ay mura at madaling gawin at hindi kailangan ng espesyal na paghahanda. Kung ang resulta ng FIT ay positibo, ito ay nangangahulugan na may dugo sa dumi, at inirerekomenda na magpa-colonoscopy para hanapin ang sanhi ng pagdurugo gaya ng polyps, bukol o tumor.

Ang colonoscopy ay pagsusuri sa loob ng bituka gamit ang isang mahabang, manipis na tubo na may maliit na kamera sa dulo. Sa pamamagitan nito, maaaring suriin ang buong bituka at puwitan para makita kung may polyps, bukol o tumor. Ang pagsusuring ito ay maaaring gawin ng outpatient. Kailangan nito ng preparasyon bago ang paagsusuri katulad ng pag-inom ng pampadumi at pagbago ng diet sa araw bago at mismong araw ng proseso.

Palpable breast and axillary mass
New onset ni**le inversion/retraction
Ni**le discharge
Skin changes: peau d’orange (orange peel like), erythema (redness), ni**le excoration, scaling, eczema, skin ulcers
Breast pain

There is no strict rule on the day when you can get your breast imaging test but most patients get sore breasts 3-5 days before and during their menstruation because of elevated hormones.

It is best done 7-10 days from day 1 of me**es when your hormones are at lowest resulting to less dense breast tissue improving the clarity of the tests and minimizing patient’s discomfort

Your family’s medical history plays a big role in your risk of developing early-onset breast cancer but not all are genetic. Some breast cancers occur on their own (sporadic).

You’re at higher risk if you have family members who had or have:

* Breast cancer before age 50
* Cancer in both breasts
* Male breast cancer
* Prostate cancer
* Ovarian cancer
* Pancreatic cancer
* Triple-negative breast cancer

Other risk factors include:

* Gene mutations, like BRCA1 and BRCA2
* Previous radiation therapy to your chest
* Precancerous breast conditions

In line with the National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) this March, let me share to you the latest update on Breast Cancer Screening published in NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) last October 2023.

Breast cancer can strike at any age, but is less common in younger people but it’s not anymore rare. In fact between 2012 and 2016, about 10% of new female breast cancer diagnoses were early-onset breast cancer (between ages 18 and 45).
