🦷 Dentists Are Not Free Helplines. 🦷
Midnight messages:
💬 “Doc, can you check this tooth?”
💬 “Quick question lang — no big deal.”
💬 “You’re a dentist, right?”
And what do we do?
✔️ We look at photos of swollen gums sent on WhatsApp.
✔️ We examine X-rays forwarded through Messenger.
✔️ We draft treatment advice in between family dinners, weddings, even funerals.
✔️ We respond — even when it’s past midnight.
Because we are doctors. We were educated to heal. We are wired to care.
But the moment we talk about professional fees, suddenly:
❌ “Why are you charging?”
❌ “Why is it so expensive?”
❌ “You should be helping, not asking for money.”
⚖️ Let’s put this straight:
• Lawyers charge for every consultation.
• Accountants bill for every signature.
• IT specialists get paid for every system reset.
• Therapists charge for every hour of listening.
• Tutors never teach for free — even to “family.”
So why are dentists expected to diagnose, prescribe, and treat through a free text message?
🛑 Dentistry is not a hobby. It is not a side gig. It is not Google.
It is years of rigorous education, sleepless nights, board exams, hands-on training, continuing seminars, and constant learning.
What we give is not “just advice.”
It’s clinical judgment. Professional responsibility.
If you act on our guidance, we are accountable for your health. That’s the weight behind every word we say.
We don’t just fix teeth.
We rebuild confidence.
We relieve pain.
We restore health and dignity.
And oral health is not “just teeth” — it is a mirror of overall health. A neglected infection in the mouth can become life-threatening.
That is why we stand firm:
🙏 Respect the time.
🙏 Respect the skill.
🙏 Respect the profession 🦷
I stand for my patients. I stand for oral health. I stand for my profession. My voice matters.
