This year’s theme, “Changing the Narrative on Suicide”, reminds us that awareness, compassion, and open conversation can save lives.

Recognizing the signs of suicidal thoughts can make all the difference. Here are 6 common warning signs to look out for:
1️⃣ Talking about wanting to die, feeling hopeless, or being a burden.
2️⃣ Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities once enjoyed.
3️⃣ Increased use of alcohol or drugs.
4️⃣ Sudden mood changes—either extreme sadness or a surprising calmness after deep distress.
5️⃣ Giving away possessions or saying goodbye.
6️⃣ Expressing feeling trapped, in unbearable pain, or having no reason to live.

💡 If you notice these signs in someone, don’t ignore them. Gently reach out, listen with empathy, and encourage seeking professional help.
