What Is Ear Barotrauma and How Can I Prevent It When Flying?

Ear barotrauma happens when pressure changes—like during takeoff or landing—damage the eardrum or middle ear.

Prevention Tips:
✅ Yawn, swallow, or chew gum during ascent/descent
✅ If with nasal congestion, you may use prescribed intranasal or oral decongestants.
✅ Try earplugs designed for flying

If you feel severe pain or hearing loss after a flight, consult your ENT.

We know many of us are already dealing with floodwaters, and in times like this, Leptospirosis becomes a real danger. This serious bacterial infection spreads through water contaminated with animal urine, especially from rodents.

Please don’t take any risks. 🙏

✅ Here’s how you can protect yourself and your loved ones:
• Avoid walking in floodwater if you can
• If unavoidable, wear boots or any protective covering
• Wash thoroughly with soap and water after exposure
• Keep wounds clean and properly covered

If you start to feel symptoms like fever, chills, or body pain after being in floodwater, go to the nearest health center or hospital right away. Early treatment can save lives.
