El ángulo de Cobb es el valor estándar para evaluar el nivel de las deformaciones de la columna y el riesgo de progresión. Sin embargo, desde una perspectiva biomecánica, no es el ángulo de Cobb el que prevalece, sino la distancia entre las vértebras y el eje de una columna vertical recta ideal que está bien asentada y centrada en el sacro.
