GOUTY ARTHRITIS.

Ang gout ay isang pangkaraniwang sakit. Ang sintomas ng gout ay ang matinding pamamaga at pananakit ng mga kasu-kasuan ng mga daliri ng paa, kamay at tuhod. Sobrang sakit ang gout.

Para malaman kung gouty arthritis nga ang sakit, kailangan nating suriin ang uric acid sa isang blood test. Kapag mataas ito, gout ang dahilan ng iyong arthritis. Iba kasi ang gamutan ng gout sa ordinaryong arthritis lamang.

Nakukuha ang gout sa dalawang bagay: (1) Lahi — Namana sa magulang, (2) Pagkain — Mahilig kumain ng mga pagkaing mataas sa uric acid.

Ano ang pagkaing dapat iwasan ng isang taong may gouty arthritis?

Sa mga gulay, iwasan ang pagkain ng asparagus, cauliflower, mushroom at spinach. Mataas ito sa uric acid. OK lang ang kanin, pero dapat bawasan ang oatmeal at whole grain cereals.

Pagdating naman sa ulam, dito tayo nagkakatalo. Umiwas sa mga lamanloob (bituka, atay, utak, puso at kidneys), sisig, beans, sardines, tunsoy, tamban, dilis, bagoong, tahong at lahat ng klaseng mani. Ang gravy, patis, at lechon liver sauce ay mataas din sa uric acid. At para sa mga alcoholic, umiwas sa pag-inom ng beer at alak kung ayaw mong atakehin ng gout.

Ano na lang ba ang puwede kainin? Puwede naman ang lahat ng gulay puwera sa mga nabanggit ko na. Ang gatas, keso at paminsan-minsan na karne ay pinapayagan din. Ang coffee, tea, gelatin at lahat ng prutas ay hindi bawal sa gout.
