Stop 🛑 What do cupping marks actually mean?

Cupping marks are not random. They show how blood is moving through the tissue and reveal areas of restriction, tension, and recovery.

Important to understand
FYI: Cupping mark color is influenced by tissue condition, suction strength, and how long the cups are left on the body.

The color change comes from blood being drawn to the surface and how the tissue responds.

Dark purple to black marks indicate long term stagnation. Circulation has been limited for a while and is often linked to chronic tension or past injury.

Deep red to purple marks suggest severe restriction. Blood flow is significantly reduced and the tissue needs focused treatment.

Red to dark pink marks show moderate stagnation. Common with tight muscles, repeated strain, and stress buildup.

Light red marks indicate mild stagnation. Early restriction often caused by posture, training load, or daily stress.

Light pink marks reflect healthy circulation. Blood flow is moving properly and the tissue is functioning well.

Yellow or fading marks show the healing stage. The body is clearing the area and restoring normal circulation.

If the same area keeps showing darker marks, that is a sign the issue has not been fully resolved.

Persistent pain despite physiotherapy, posture correction, and regular exercise may not always be purely musculoskeletal.
In some cases, underlying vitamin deficiencies can impair the body’s ability to heal. Nutrients such as Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 are essential for bone health and nerve function, while B-complex vitamins, along with Vitamins C and E, support muscle recovery, tissue repair, and inflammation control.
Deficiencies in these nutrients may contribute to ongoing back pain, joint discomfort, fatigue, or nerve-related symptoms like tingling and burning sensations.
While physiotherapy improves movement and mechanics, optimal recovery also depends on internal healing. If pain persists or keeps returning, a more comprehensive assessment—including nutritional evaluation—may be necessary.

You wake up tired even after sleeping and when you look in

the mirror suddenly your cellulites are more obvious

That's what happens when you go too long without a massage.

Pagod ang kamay, mabigat ang likod, pero tuloy pa rin ang session.

Normal ito — pero dito nagsisimula ang risk.

Ano ang nangyayari kapag pinilit

Kapag hindi handa ang katawan ng therapist:

Control
• bumababa ang precision
• nagiging madiin ang galaw
• nawawala ang sensitivity

Compensation
• ibang muscle ang ginagamit
• naiipon ang stress sa thumb at wrist
• mas mabilis ma-injure

Decision
• bumabagal ang assessment
• nagiging routine ang technique
• hindi na naaayon sa kailangan ng client

Anatomy, applied: Meet the soleus!

She's a HARD worker. And she usually gets overshadowed by her sister the gastrocnemius. She's more of a behind-the-scenes grind girly, and she's okay with that! And while YES she gets worked when your knee is bent, she does also get worked when your knee is straight. So train both.

Soleus is critical for:

Distance running

Hiking & uphill work

Jump landings

Deceleration

Change of pace

Achilles durability

But listen. She carries 2-3x body weight/step, and she does that for you OVER and OVER and OVER. She's so important she's even been called the heart of the leg because of how much she works to get blood flow back up to your heart. Treat her right!
