Philippine Red Cross - San Pablo City Chapter

Philippine Red Cross - San Pablo City Chapter The 44th Chapter of the Philippine Red Cross.

Born officially in 1947, but with roots that traces back to the revolutionary days, the Philippine Red Cross has truly become the premier humanitarian organization in the country, committed to provide quality life-saving services that protect the life and dignity especially of indigent Filipinos in vulnerable situations. The story of the Philippine Red Cross is the story of men and women from all walks of life who have dedicated themselves to the service of humanity. It is the tale of hundreds of thousands of ordinary people who devoted their time and resources to help the poorest of the poor. Professionally trained and truly compassionate, these men and women are ready to lend a helping hand to those in need – whoever, whenever and wherever they may be. At present, the Philippine Red Cross provides six major services: Blood Services, Disaster Management Services, Safety Services, Health Services, Social Services, Red Cross Youth and Volunteer Services. All of them embody the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. These values guide and inspire all Red Cross staff and volunteers, to whom being a Red Crosser is more than just a philosophy but a way of life.

The spirit of service and volunteerism was truly alive this morning, April 8, 2026, as the STI San Pablo Senior Plus Red Cross Youth Council, in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross San Pablo City Chapter, successfully conducted a Basic First Aid Lecture and Demonstration at the Activity Area of STI San Pablo.

The activity brought together passionate Red Cross Youth Volunteers who were eager to learn essential first aid knowledge and life-saving skills that can make a real difference in times of emergency. More than just a training, the event became a meaningful opportunity for the youth to grow in confidence, preparedness, and compassion for others.

The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the leadership and support of RCY Adviser Ms. Karen F. Garing, alongside RCY President Ms. Zaira Mae Lorbes and the dedicated RCY Officers, who worked hand in hand in organizing a purposeful and engaging learning experience for their fellow volunteers.

To further enrich the session, the council invited Mr. Christian Daryll Falible and Mr. Jayson B. Fajardo to serve as facilitators for the training. Through their guidance, the participants were introduced to the fundamentals of first aid and practical emergency response, equipping them with valuable knowledge that can help save lives and serve the community better.

This initiative reflects the true mission of the Red Cross Youth to empower young people to become active, skilled, and compassionate humanitarian leaders. By learning first aid at a young age, these volunteers are not only gaining practical skills but are also embracing the responsibility of becoming ready and reliable responders in their homes, schools, and communities.

Indeed, today’s activity was more than just a lecture and demonstration it was a reminder that the youth of today have the power to become the lifesavers of tomorrow.

Service, leadership, and humanity continue to thrive in every willing heart.
