Twinning Activity ng PDA San Pedro City Chapter at Cavite Dental Chapter
Para sa mga Estudyante ng San Pedro Central Elementary School

Bilang bahagi ng adhikain ng Philippine Dental Association (PDA) na maihatid ang dekalidad na serbisyong dental sa lahat, matagumpay na isinagawa ang isang makabuluhang twinning activity sa pakikipagtulungan ng San Pedro City Chapter at Cavite Dental Chapter. Ginanap ang programa sa San Pedro Central Elementary School, kung saan binigyang-pansin ang mga mag-aaral na may espesyal na pangangailangan.

Nagbigay tayo ng dental check-up, oral health education, fluoride application, at mga dental hygiene kits 💕

Lubos ang pasasalamat sa pamunuan ng San Pedro Central Elementary school, mga g**o, magulang, at mga katuwang na organisasyon sa matagumpay na pagsasakatuparan ng programang ito.

PDA San Pedro City Chapter, sa pakikipagtulungan ng Rotary Club of San Pedro, ay matagumpay na naisagawa ang unang paggamit ng Rotary Dental Bus ngayong Agosto 22, 2025, para sa mahigit 120 day care students mula sa Brgy. Laram, Brgy. Magsaysay, at Brgy. Bagong Silang (Filinvest).

Kasama sa programang ito ang oral health lecture, oral prophylaxis, at fluoride varnish application para sa mas malusog at mas maliwanag na ngiti ng ating mga kabataan. 🦷✨

Lubos ang aming pasasalamat sa Punong Barangay ng Laram, sa mga Day Care Teachers at mga magulang na naging katuwang sa tagumpay ng proyektong ito.

We’re inviting all dentists (family & friends) to join our Yoga & Zumba sessions for a minimal fee of 300.00/session because a healthy body is just as important as a healthy smile! 😁💪

This essential course will equip you with the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to respond effectively and confidently to life-threatening emergencies—right in the dental clinic setting.

Ngiti, Gatas, at Gabay! 🍼🦷💖

Sa pag gunita natin sa National Breastfeeding Awareness month, nakiisa tayo sa HAKAB TA 2025 na ginanap sa Westlake Medical Center, higit na 50 breastfeeding moms ang sabay-sabay na nag-latch — na sabay din kaming naghatid ng kaalaman at pagmamahal! 🥰

Ang Philippine Dental Association - San Pedro City Chapter, sa pangunguna ni Dr. Kevin Lee Mercado, kasama sina Dr. Janel Mendoza Dr. Imelda Sy Ang, Dr. Edelmira Mendoza at Dr. Angelica Escasinas ay nagbahagi ng kahalagahan ng oral health para sa mga nagpapasusong ina.

Bilang dagdag na alaga, namigay rin kami ng oatmeal para sa pampadami ng gatas, at hygiene kits para sa ating mga Super Nanays! 💪🧼🥣

Dahil ang malusog na ngipin at katawan ng ina, ay susi sa masiglang ngiti at gatas ni baby! 😁👶

National Breastfeeding Awareness Month | August 2025

ALAM MO BA?!

Mga Benepisyo ng Pagpapasuso (Benefits of Breastfeeding)
1. Proper Jaw Development
- Ang pagsuso sa dibdib ay tumutulong sa tamang hugis ng panga at mukha, at puwedeng maiwasan ang pagkaroon ng magkakapatong o baluktot na ngipin (malocclusion).
2. Iwas Tooth Decay (Reduced Risk of Cavities)
- Ang gatas ng ina ay hindi matamis di tulad ng formula o juice.

3. Maayos na Posisyon ng Dila (Good Tongue Posture)
- Tinatrain ng breastfeeding ang maayos na paggalaw ng dila, na mahalaga sa pagsasalita at paglunok.

Mga Dapat Bantayan Pag nag Breastfeeding:
1. Pagsuso sa Gabi at Tooth Decay (Nighttime Nursing and Cavities)
- Kapag may ngipin na si baby, ang madalas na pagsuso sa gabi na hindi nililinis ang bibig pagkatapos ay maaaring magdulot ng cavities.
- Sa gabi, kaunti ang laway kaya mas matagal nananatili ang asukal sa ngipin.

2. Delayed na Dental Check-up
- Kahit nagpapasuso, dapat pa rin dalhin si baby sa dentista sa loob ng unang taon or pagtumubo na ang una niyang ngipin.

Mga Tips Para sa Kalusugan ng Bibig ni Baby (Oral Health Tips for Baby)
1. Linisin ang gilagid ni baby kahit wala pang ngipin gamit ang malambot na tela o cotton. (cloth diaper)

2. Kapag may ngipin na, mag-toothbrush dalawang beses kada araw gamit ang maliit na amount ng fluoride toothpaste.

3. Iwasang patulugin si baby habang sumususo lalo na kung may ngipin na.

4. Pumunta sa dentista bago mag-1 year old si baby.

Diabetes Awareness Week July 2025

ALAM MO BA?!

1. Malapit ang Ugnayan ng Diabetes at Sakit sa Gilagid
- Ang mga taong may diabetes ay 2-3 beses mas mataas ang posibilidad na magkaroon ng sakit sa gilagid (periodontitis).
- Ang mataas na blood sugar ay nagpapahina sa immune system, kaya mas mahirap labanan ang impeksiyon sa bibig.

2. Maaaring Palalain ng Sakit sa Gilagid ang Diabetes
- Ang pamamaga mula sa sakit sa gilagid ay maaaring magpahirap sa pagkontrol ng blood sugar levels.
- Ang paggamot sa sakit sa gilagid ay maaaring makatulong sa pagbaba ng A1C levels (isang sukat ng blood sugar control).

3. Maaaring Magpakita ang Bibig ng Maagang Palatandaan ng Diabetes
- Ang sintomas tulad ng tuyong bibig, dumudugong gilagid, madalas na pagkakaroon ng impeksiyon sa bibig, at sugat na mabagal gumaling ay maaaring senyales ng hindi pa nadidiagnoes na diabetes.

4. Tuyong Bibig = Mas Maraming Sira at Impeksiyon
- Karaniwang nagdudulot ng tuyong bibig (xerostomia) ang diabetes. Ang laway ay nagsisilbing proteksyon laban sa pagkabulok ng ngipin at bacteria.
- Mas tumataas ang tsansa sa cavities, oral thrush (impeksiyong fungal), at mga sugat sa bibig.

5. Mahalaga ang Regular na Pagbisita sa Dentista
- Ang mga taong may diabetes ay dapat magpatingin sa dentista ng at least dalawang beses kada taon (or as frequent as possible)
- Regular visits can detect oral complications early and help manage gum disease.

6. Ang malinis na bibig ay nakatutulong sa mga taong may diabetes
- Ang pagsisipilyo dalawang beses sa isang araw, pag-floss araw-araw, at paggamit ng antibacterial na mouthwash ay makakatulong sa pagbabawas ng pamamaga at sa pagkokontrol ng blood sugar levels.

7. Ang paninigarilyo ay nakakasama sa diabetes at oral health
- Ang mga naninigarilyong may diabetes ay 20x mas mataas ang posibilidad na magkaroon ng malubhang sakit sa gilagid (periodontitis) kaysa sa mga hindi naninigarilyo at walang diabetes.
