Established in 1971, Divine Mercy Hospital started as a diagnostic laboratory and out patient clinic known as MIDTOWN CLINIC and LABORATORIES,located at Magsaysay Road, San Pedro, Laguna. Dr. Primo Guevarra Jr., the Hospital Administrator and Dr. Clemente A., Amante,the Medical Director, saw the need to offer an alternative to the patients in San Pedro and the neighboring vicinities who had to go

to Manila for all thier medical needs.In a short span of time, the clinic became too crowded for its continiously growing number of patients which led to its expansion to a 7 bed primary hospital in 1974,MIDTOWN GENERAL HOSPITAL, the first hospital in Laguna.Divine Mercy Hospital History

The steady growth in the needs of the patients gave way to a 30 bed secondary hospital under the able leadership of Mrs. Eva Guevarra, Hospital Administrator and Dr. Maximo Baltao, Medical Director. However,with the rapid growth of the community, the incorporatiors decided to transfer the hospital to Amante Subd. San Pedro, Laguna last October 27, 1990 and was inaugurated as Divine Mercy Hospital with Mrs. Eva Guevara as Hospital Administrator and Dr. Adolfo Llanura as Medical Director. After more than a decade of service,the corporation in its desire to serve fully, decided to upgrade the facilities and renovate completely and appointed to Mr. Tan as Hospital Administrator and Dr. Elvia Estanislao as Medical Director. The New Divine Mercy Hospital inaugurated last April 20, 2003, is now ready to provide the increasing needs of its patients with the addtion of medical specialists and the acquisition of the state of the art equipments. Divine Mercy Hospital has been a constant proponent in providing improved health care services in the area of San Pedro and its neighboring towns, Muntinlupa (southern part of NCR) and Binan (the 2nd Municipality of Laguna). From a mere laboratory and diagnostic facility, it upgraded into a primary level of care hospital then into a secondary level of care hospital, all of which to address the needs of the community
