LOOK: President Rodrigo Roa Duterte reverted the National Capital Region (NCR), and the provinces of Laguna, Cavite, Rizal and Bulacan to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) effective midnight August 4, 2020.

On Sunday, August 2, the President likewise approved the hiring of additional healthcare workers to augment the current workforce, including the hiring of 10,000 medical professionals and the calling to active duty and enlistment to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

Healthcare workers would also be provided additional benefits, such as risk allowance for private sector healthcare workers treating COVID-19 patients, the amount of 10 to 15,000 pesos for every healthcare worker that gets sick, life insurance, free accommodation, free transportation, free and frequent testing.

According to Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque, also approved during the meeting was the Cabinet’s recommendation to issue work and quarantine passes to minimize movement.

The local government units (LGUs) and the COVID-19 CODE Teams are directed to intensify the localized lockdown strategy and the implementation of Oplan Kalinga.

The guidelines for minimum health standards will also be strictly enforced and intensified while giving twenty million face masks for the poor.

The use of RT-PCR testing as gold standard has likewise been approved by PRRD.

GOOD DAY DENTISTS.

We are happy to announce that the DENTSCAN DIAGNOSTIC CENTER will start its operation on the first week of July 2020. However, the center will start today to accept appointments of your patients. All your referrals will be SCHEDULED to prevent congestion in the center and for the protection and comfort of your patients. All branches, San Pablo City, Sta. Cruz, Laguna and Rosales, Pangasinan will be implementing STRICT PROTOCOLS as recommended by the Department of Health and Philippine Dental Association. The staff has completed its training for their safety and most importantly the safety of your patients.

Primarily, we have isolated the reception area, office/working areas and xray room with its own Air Purification (with Plasma Technology). Infection control protocols will be implemented before opening the center, in-between patients and after the last patient. Our staffs will be wearing all the necessary PPEs for everyone’s safety.

This July, we will be limiting our services to the following diagnostic procedures:
- Panoramic Radiograph
- Lateral Cephalometric Radiograph
- TMJ Tomography
- TMJ Transcranial
- AP-PA Radiograph
- Periapical Radiograph
- Hand-wrist Radiograph
- Extra-oral Photo (facial profile) to be noted by the dentists.

*Impression for the Model cast and Inta-oral photo procedures will not be done as of the moment until further notice.

These are the protocols we are going to ask you and your patients to follow:
(a) To answer truthfully to the screening procedures the center will be implementing.
(b) To call our center for their appointments. No walk-ins.
(c) To bring or wear face mask (no mask with metallic moldings). If it is not available, the center will provide the same with a minimal cost.
(d) To come on-time. No companion will be allowed inside except for minors and PWDs.
(e) To follow the same infection protocols as implemented in your own clinics.
