Salitahanan: Unang Hakbang Tungo sa Pagsibol ng Pananalita sa Loob ng Tahanan ay isang service-learning activity na naglalayong magbigay pansin sa kakulangan ng mga bata sa early language stimulation na maaaring magdulot ng mga problema sa kanilang pag-unlad.

Ang proyektong ito ay pinangungunahan ng UST CRS Speech-Language Society sa kursong SLP1046: Language Conditions sa pakikipagtulungan sa departamento ng Speech-Language Pathology ng College of Rehabilitation Sciences.

Congratulations to our consultant speech-language pathologists in completing Hanen Centre’s More Than Words certification workshop. We will be offering the program in the center soon!

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧-𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐞𝐜𝐡-𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬!

The University of Santo Tomas has partnered with The Hanen Centre to bring certification and workshops to the Philippines. Several of our academic staff, clinical supervisor and alumni have successfully completed the More Than Words Certification Program last July 22-24. This program focuses on empowering parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder to improve their social communication skills.

Attention: The practice of Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) in the Philippines is regulated by Republic Act No. 11249, also known as the "Speech-Language Pathology Act of 2016." This law protects the public by ensuring that only qualified professionals can provide SLP services.

Warning: It is illegal for anyone who is not a registered and licensed SLP to practice the profession in the Philippines. This includes individuals who:

-Do not hold a valid license issued by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC)
-Claim to be an SLP but haven't completed the necessary academic requirements and passed the PRC licensure examination
-If you encounter someone who is:

Offering SLP services without a license
Claiming to be an SLP with false qualifications
We urge you to:

📍Do not engage with their services.
📍Report the individual to the PRC or the local Professional Regulatory Board (PRB). You can file a complaint online through the PRC website: [URLprc online ON Professional Regulation Commission professionalregulation.gov.ph]

Remember: Choosing a qualified SLP is crucial for your safety and well-being. Always ask for their PRC license number and verify its validity online before availing any SLP services.

By working together, we can ensure that only qualified professionals are providing SLP services in the Philippines.
