In coordination with Provincial Population Office Clinical Services and Provincial Population Office Outreach, last March 27, 2026 the Rural Health Unit provided Cervical Awareness Program with Free Screening for Papsmear, VIA and Breast Examination with 52 participants and 34 successfully screened.

✅ Sino ang Puwedeng Mag-donate?

Edad 16–60 taong gulang (kung 16–17, may parental consent)

Timbang na hindi bababa sa 50 kilos

Walang iniinom na maintenance para sa malalang sakit

Walang ubo, sipon, lagnat, o anumang impeksyon sa loob ng nakaraang 1–2 linggo

Walang tattoo o body piercing sa loob ng nakaraang 12 buwan

Walang risky sexual behavior

Nakapahinga at may sapat na tulog bago mag-donate

Kumain ng magaan na pagkain (huwag mag-fasting) bago mag-donate

🚫 Hindi Puwedeng Mag-donate kung:

May sakit sa puso, baga, atay, o kidney

May kasalukuyang impeksyon (hal. hepatitis, HIV, TB, atbp.)

Umiinom ng antibiotics sa loob ng nakaraang linggo

Uminom ng alak sa loob ng 24 oras bago mag-donate

Buntis, bagong panganak, o nagpapasuso

💡 Paalala Bago at Pagkatapos Mag-donate:

Uminom ng maraming tubig bago at pagkatapos ng donation

Magpahinga muna ng ilang minuto matapos makuha ang dugo

Iwasan ang mabibigat na trabaho o pagbubuhat sa parehong araw

The Santa Maria Rural Health Unit (RHU) spearheaded an Adolescent Symposium with the theme “Empowered Teens, Healthy Choices, Brighter Futures”, aiming to educate young people on critical health and social issues.

The symposium addressed topics such as Teenage Pregnancy, HIV-AIDS Awareness, Illegal Drugs, Bullying, and Mental Health, fostering awareness and informed decision-making among adolescents.

Key speakers delivered insightful discussions on the importance of making healthy choices and understanding the consequences of risky behaviors. Their talks emphasized empowerment, responsibility, and the role of education in shaping brighter futures for the youth.

In addition to the symposium, RHU Santa Maria extended its services by offering free X-ray examinations for Senior High School students, faculty, staff, and local residents, reinforcing its commitment to community health and wellness.

This initiative reflects RHU Santa Maria’s dedication to promoting holistic health education and preventive care, ensuring that adolescents and the community are equipped with knowledge and resources for a healthier tomorrow.
