1. ๐๐ฏ๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐น๐ช๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ต - Spirulina is packed with antioxidant compounds, one of which, phycocyanin, is responsible for spirulinaโs dark blue-green colour โ it also helps dampen oxidation and inhibit inflammation.

It also appears to help manage total cholesterol, lowering the so-called โbadโ low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and elevating โgoodโ high-density lipoprotein (HDL).

Spirulina may have value in protecting against cancer. The mechanism by which it does this may be by activating immune cells called natural killer cells, which help our defence against tumours.
5. ๐๐ฆ๐ฅ๐ถ๐ค๐ฆ๐ด ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ๐ณ๐จ๐ช๐ฆ๐ด - Spirulina appears to reduce the inflammation of nasal airways, which is a classical symptom of allergic rhinitis. In one study, it was seen to significantly improve symptoms such as sneezing, nasal congestion and itching.
