On May 5, 2026, the nine Nutrition and Dietetics interns successfully presented their final case studies to the Nutritionist-Dietitians of the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of SIMC. Covering a broad spectrum of clinical diseases, the interns delivered comprehensive presentations that included the overview of the disease, pathophysiology, nutritional assessment, clinical history, nutrition diagnoses, as well as short- and long-term nutrition management plans.
This activity further enhanced the studentsโ clinical competencies and strengthened their skills in addressing nutrition-related problems, particularly in managing patients with complex medical conditions. It also served as an avenue for the interns to demonstrate their critical thinking, professionalism, and application of evidence-based nutrition care in clinical practice.
Nutrition remains an integral component of medical science and plays a vital role in helping patients achieve optimum health through proper diet and wellness interventions. Through its strong partnership with the university, the Nutrition and Dietetics Department continues to support the development of future Nutritionist-Dietitians and believes in the studentsโ potential to achieve a 100% board examination passing rate.
Now on its third year of collaboration, the successful implementation of the internship program reflects the departmentโs commitment as a training partner in honing future professionalsโ knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes in a practical healthcare setting.
