1. Always scan for motorcycles
In Cavite traffic, motorcycles often appear beside you suddenly. Check mirrors constantly, especially before turning or opening doors.
2. Signal early
Use turn signals 3–5 seconds before turning or changing lanes so others can react.
3. Keep a safe following distance
Use at least a 3-second gap behind the car in front. Increase in rain.
4. Slow down at intersections
Even if you have right of way, expect someone to beat the light or cross suddenly.
5. Watch for pedestrians anywhere
People may cross outside crosswalks, especially near markets, schools, terminals, and barangay roads.
6. Avoid aggressive lane changes
Frequent weaving saves little time and increases collision risk.
7. Brake early and gently
Sudden braking causes rear-end crashes, especially with tailgaters and motorcycles behind you.
8. Use headlights in rain or low visibility
Even daytime rain in Cavite can reduce visibility quickly.
9. Stay calm with reckless drivers
Let them pass. Don’t race, block, or retaliate.
10. Assume others may make mistakes
This is the core of defensive driving. Expect sudden stops, U-turns, no signals, and wrong-way entries.

Hot weather in the Philippines can get intense, so staying cool is all about smart habits + small daily tricks ☀️ Here are practical ways that really work!
💧 Stay hydrated
Drink plenty of water—even before you feel thirsty
Add electrolytes sometimes (like coconut water or oral rehydration salts)
Avoid too much coffee or alcohol—they dehydrate you
🧊 Cool your body directly
Put a cold towel on your neck, wrists, or behind your knees
Take quick cool showers (even 2–3x a day if needed)
Keep a small spray bottle with water for instant refresh
👕 Dress for the heat
Wear loose, light-colored clothes (cotton or linen is best)
Avoid tight or dark outfits—they trap heat
🍉 Eat cooling foods
Fruits with high water content: watermelon, cucumber, pineapple
Light meals instead of heavy, oily food
Try cold snacks like yogurt or ice pops
🏠 Keep your space cool
Close curtains/blinds during peak heat (10 AM–4 PM)
Use electric fans strategically (point toward you or cross-ventilate windows)
Place a bowl of ice in front of a fan for DIY cooling
Turn off unused appliances—they add heat
🌬️ Go where it’s cooler
Spend time in malls, cafés, or libraries with aircon during peak heat
If at home, stay on lower floors (heat rises)
🕶️ Avoid peak sun hours
If possible, go out early morning or late afternoon
Use umbrella, hat, and sunscreen when outside
💤 Adjust your routine
Do chores or workouts early morning or evening
Take short naps during hottest hours if you can
