Not too late to post what kept us busy last August. Baby with 3 cord coils, a baby with 2 cord coil who was delivered vaginally (Yey!), a scheduled CS secondary to previous thoracic surgery, hysterectomy (a case of abnormal uterine bleeding), most of the patients went into labor and had successful NSD’s, 4 had endometrial biopsy for AUBs. No miscarriages for this month (thank God!).

In behalf of our team of midwives, nurse, anesthesiologist and pediatricians, we would like to thank you all for trusting us in your beautiful journey of motherhood and in your confidence that we can help you through every period of womanhood.

We have a very good partner sonologist who can check on cord coils of babies. With this patient, we already know that the baby had 3 cord coils around the neck at 35-36 wks. Weekly NST (non-stress test) were done at the clinic. The patient was also advised to do fetal movement counting and to go to clinic for any changes in fetal movement. At 40 wks, she went into labor but halfway through, the baby had non-reassuring fetal heart rate and an emergency Cesarean section was done.

So proud of this mom! She was able to push for a normal delivery even with 2 cord coil around her baby (neck). During labor, she was hooked to fetal monitor to note for any decelerations (pagbaba ng heartbeat ni baby). Thank God, baby’s healthy with good cry and suck and was discharge the next day.

A little miracle arrives!

At 24 weeks, this patient of mine had preterm labor. It was serious that her cervix length was only at 1.8cm (normal 3.5cm). Although it was controlled, we were never complacent. Her medications were continued and at 38 wks, their little miracle was born.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity to help deliver this big baby (3.74 Kg) and to take care of the mom. Thank you, Lord, for using my hands in the service for others ❤️

Another successful normal spontaneous delivery at the clinic!

The couple were trying to conceive for a year, given supplements and after a month, they’re already pregnant! Fast forward into 34 wks, she had preterm labor (thank you, Lord, we were able to control it!). The labor and delivery went smoothly and a healthy baby was delivered at 39 wks.

Her first pregnancy was complicated by preterm birth, only at 34 wks. Aside from the many days at the NICU for the baby, the feeling of distress accompanies every mother whose child she can’t be with as soon as possible. So, with this current pregnancy, we were very careful and, eventhough she also went into preterm labor (again), good thing we controlled it. At 38 wks, she delivered via repeat CS, and with no complications.

After 2 hours of pushing…
My patient refuse to bear down anymore at 10 cm (already). Your guess is right, pagod na daw sya. She wanted to deliver by CS, and however I convince her that normal delivery is better and I know she can do it, she still insisted to have CS. We called our reliable anesthesiologist and by the time he arrived, the patient is bearing down already (thank you oxytocin!) In the end, we had a successful normal delivery with a little bit of push here and there.

We have no pictures when she gave birth. It was an emergency cesarean section due to anhydramnios ( no amniotic fluid ) and fetal bradycardia ( low heart rate ). With the Lord’s guidance, me and my team were able to succeed in the operation and the NICU staff did all their best to make sure the baby has no serious complications. After 2 days, both mother and baby went home in good health.
