Deliveries before welcoming the new year ❤️

We would like to thank all of you who continuously put their trust in us in caring through their pregnancy journey, some for reproductive health issues, others for complete women’s healthcare. Amongst all of you who have been very instrumental in our success, I would like to say congratulations on your new journey that is motherhood! Ruptured bag of waters, stained amniotic fluid. The team, with the shared decision of the mom and her husband, opted for a Cesarean section because she was only at 2cm cervical dilatation. Luckily, we delivered the baby just in time and both of them went home healthy.

Delivered this baby before my vacation. Will resume clinic on Dec 16. Our patients at the clinic and at Unihealth Southwoods should not worry if you will experience labor pains. I have tapped equally-experienced OB Gyn friends to help you deliver your babies.

4.1Kg at 35 weeks.

Her first pregnancy was 8 years ago, also a big baby at 3.5kg, full term, normal delivery. This time, she had gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM, insulin requiring). Although her preterm labor at 34 wks was controlled for 4 days, this baby just want to be born and can’t wait anymore. During ultrasound, the weight is about 3.3Kg. Have I known that this baby is sooo big, I would’ve offered Cesarean section instead. But, a fighter that she is, my patient bravely pushed hard to get this baby out. Thank you to all the labor and delivery staff, doctors and neonatologist who cared for them during their stay.

After almost 24 hours of labor, this mom delivered via Cesarean section secondary to arrest in cervical dilatation. Her pregnancy was complicated by gestation diabetes mellitus (GDM) and was on insulin to lower her blood glucose. At 39-40 wks, she was admitted but her cervix was able to dilate at only 6 cm. The baby weighs 3400 grams, a somewhat big baby for a first time mom.

Grateful for this moment when I delivered a baby with the help of a dear friend and co-resident during my training as an OB Gyn. Brings back the memories and all those years!

Story: The mother was fully dilated for almost 2 hours (in our birthing clinic). Little or no improvement in the descent of the head. Management is to do Cesarean section in our partner hospital (Unihealth Southwoods). The delivery was smooth and the baby was monitored at the nursery.

For those wanting to give birth at our clinic, you need not worry because we have all the equipments necessary to monitor you on your delivery. If natural birth will not push through, you will be transferred to our partner hospital for any possible management. Be assured that we will take good care of you and your baby 🙂

Baby out at 5:32 am! At 7 cm, she had ruptured bag of waters and immediately went to the emergency room. Labor for 2 hours and pushing for 30 minutes. What a lucky woman indeed!

We recently delivered a preterm (33 wks) baby due to Non-reassuring fetal status. A day prior to the mother’s consult, she perceived a little to no active movement of the baby, just on and off contractions. She went for an ultrasound and decided to consult at the clinic after. Her Pelvic ultrasound showed fetal bradycardia, normal amniotic fluid and no cord coil. She was immediately subjected to NST (non stress test- a test to check for the baby’s well being). The showed non- reactive results (second picture). With this, an emergency Cesarean section was performed. Although the mother has unremarkable hospital stay, the baby is still at the NICU and might stay there longer due to prematurity.

The lesson for this case is very valuable, specially to 1st time mothers. Careful observation of your baby’s movement is essential. A movement of 10 in 2 hours is what we always say to be the an indicator that the baby is just fine inside the womb. If anything is a bit different or strange with what you feel, it is better to consult your OB Gyn or midwife so they can assess you.

Gratitude to the Lord, for using our hands as instrument to deliver this baby. Though premature, I am confident that with the expertise of our partner Neonatologist, he will be able to go home soon. Thank you also to our dependable anesthesiologist and OR DR staff at Unihealth Southwoods for the superb job!
