The TERM “ACHAAH’S “ origin?
Good morning to everyone reading this! :)
I’d like to tell you a story on why we came up on this name for about 18 years and we still managed to continue our vision & mission for 18 years and so on. And for those years, Patient’s Family, Friends, Visitors, Guest, & different colleagues and almost everyone asking the same question.
Who is ACHAAH’S? Is this the name of the one who pioneered on the year 2000 which it started as a solely daily independent standing clinic only focused on childbirth wherein those days the competition is from the cultural way of giving birth the “KUMADRONAS” were there and also good at their ways of birth. But in due time due to increase of Health Hazard of mother & baby, those kumadronas were lessen and almost diminished up to this time.
Kumadronas by the way are the traditional birth home attendants. The local government started to enforce the policy which prohibits the delivery of newborns at home by traditional birth attendants or local "kumadronas." In a statement by the DOH, it said maternal deaths are caused by hypertensive disorder, severe hemorrhage or other labor or abortion-related problems and child death due to infection, which can be prevented by having child-deliveries at proper health facilities.
