The City Nutrition Office, in partnership with the City Health Office, successfully conducted a Nutrition Month Activity at Gaston Elementary School, bringing together various health and wellness initiatives to promote a healthier school community.
The activity featured the following:
1. Nutrition Class – Promoting proper nutrition and healthy eating habits among learners.
2. Feeding Program – Providing nutritious meals to support the growth and development of students.
3. Health Advocacy Talks – Covering relevant topics such as Dengue Awareness, Kidney Health, Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD), and Adolescent Health and Nutrition.
4. Urine Dipstick Screening – Early detection and monitoring of potential health concerns among schoolchildren.
Special thanks to Sir Peronilla (Principal), the School Health and Nutrition Unit led by Dr. Eden, as well as the teachers, non-teaching staff, parents, and learners of Gaston Elementary School for their warm welcome and unwavering support in making this activity meaningful and impactful.
