In celebration of National Women’s Month 2026, Merceditas J. Montilla District Hospital proudly conducted a meaningful event anchored on the sub-theme, “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas.”
The activity highlighted the vital role of women in healthcare and recognized their contributions to service, leadership, and community development. The celebration was led by the Chief of Hospital, Dr. Nheva Gene Capariño, whose leadership continues to inspire excellence and empowerment among healthcare
professionals. Her guidance reflects the strength and resilience of modern Filipina leaders in the medical field.
As part of the activity, the hospital’s social worker, Ms. Jean Lopez, delivered a short but meaningful talk on women empowerment, inspiring both staff and patients to recognize their worth, strength, and role in shaping a more equitable society.
The program emphasized key values of women empowerment, gender equality, and the continuous pursuit of personal and professional growth. It served as a platform to encourage women to further unleash their potentials and take on leadership roles within the institution and beyond.
As part of the celebration, tokens and giveaways were distributed not only to female employees but also to female patients as a gesture of appreciation and support. This initiative aimed to extend the spirit of empowerment and care beyond the workforce and into the community the hospital serves.
Through this initiative, Merceditas J. Montilla District Hospital reaffirms its commitment to promoting an inclusive and empowering environment where women—both providers and patients—are recognized, supported, and celebrated.
Abanse, Babae!
