When a person living with HIV takes their antiretroviral treatment (ARVs) as prescribed, they can achieve an undetectable viral load. Once undetectable, they cannot pass the virus to others.

This is known as U=U: Undetectable = Untransmittable.

HIV is real and it’s not a myth. Thousands of people have died from AIDS-related illnesses in the past because there was no medication available.

Today, we have Antiretroviral Therapy (ART), a treatment that saves lives. If you test positive for HIV, take your medication every single day. Accepting your diagnosis is not easy, but your health and your life depend on it.

When HIV is left untreated, it progresses to AIDS, which weakens your immune system and opens the door to deadly opportunistic infections like tuberculosis (TB), pneumonia, and certain cancers.

Stay in control. Take your ART, keep your viral load low, and keep your immune system strong. With treatment, you can live a long, healthy life with HIV.

✅ HIV is real. Don’t ignore it. Protect yourself and your loved ones.

Getting tested for HIV and other STIs should be a normal part of taking care of your health. When you know your status, you take control. If you test positive for HIV, starting Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) as soon as possible will suppress the virus to very low levels, so low that it cannot be passed to your s£xual partners (U=U: Undetectable = Untransmittable).

But when people avoid testing out of fear or stigma, they may unknowingly live with HIV and transmit it to others. This is one of the reasons new infections keep rising.

Testing is not something to fear; it’s a step towards protection, health, and peace of mind. Make it a habit. Encourage your friends and partners to do the same.
