In line with the PuroKalusugan program, the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP) โ€“ Sorsogon Chapter conducted a community health outreach in Barangay Lajong, Juban.

The activity provided various health services free of charge to residents, including random blood sugar testing, confidential HIV screening, family planning counseling, and the distribution of family planning commodities. Additionally, vitamins were given to pregnant women and senior citizens to support their nutritional needs.

This initiative underscores FPOPโ€™s commitment to delivering accessible, inclusive, and quality healthcare services to all sectors of the community.

Through the collective efforts of our healthcare team and community partners, we were able to provide a wide range of free health services, including:

In celebration of the opening of classes at Sorsogon State University, we joined Kampusayahan 2025 with an advocacy booth promoting sexual and reproductive health.

We distributed free condoms and IEC materials, and provided vital information on family planning (FP) and adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASRH) โ€” aiming to equip young people with the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions.

Kabataang FPOP Sorsogon Chapter, successfully conducted the ๐‘ช๐‘บ๐‘ฌ ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’Ž๐’‘๐’Š๐’๐’๐’”: ๐‘ท๐’†๐’†๐’“ ๐‘ฌ๐’…๐’–๐’„๐’‚๐’•๐’๐’“ ๐‘ป๐’“๐’‚๐’Š๐’๐’Š๐’๐’ˆ ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ป๐’“๐’‚๐’Š๐’๐’†๐’“๐’”, held last July 28โ€“29, 2025 at the Peopleโ€™s Mansion, Capitol Compound, Sorsogon City.

The training was completed by 12 youth participants who engaged in intensive sessions focused on equipping them with the knowledge and facilitation skills necessary for delivering Comprehensive S*xuality Education (CSE) in schools, barangays, and community settings.

Objectives of the Training:

* To enhance the knowledge of youth participants on the core concepts and principles of Comprehensive S*xuality Education.
* To develop facilitation and peer education competencies for effective CSE delivery.
* To build a sustainable network of trained peer educators in support of the Lakbay-Akap CSE Program in Sorsogon Province.

Expected Outcomes and Results:

* A minimum of 90% of participants demonstrated improvement in post-training assessments.
* All participants successfully completed facilitation demonstrations and confidently articulated core CSE topics.
* Youth-centered CSE session plans were created and presented.
* An active communication platform was established to coordinate peer-led initiatives.
* Each participant committed to initiating at least three CSE-related activities within three months following the training.
* The training targets the registration of 15 official peer educators under the Lakbay-Akap CSE Program.

This initiative signifies a crucial step towards empowering young leaders as advocates for inclusive, rights-based, and age-appropriate sexuality educationโ€”laying the groundwork for more informed, responsible, and inclusive communities across Sorsogon Province.

The FPOP Sorsogon Chapter successfully conducted a SOGIESC Information Session at the Barangay Hall of Sabang as part of our continued commitment to promoting inclusive, rights-based, and accessible health education.

The activity featured comprehensive discussions on S*xual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and S*x Characteristics (SOGIESC), as well as an HIV 101 session. Free and confidential HIV screening services were also made available to participants. In addition, we distributed IEC materials and provided access to free condoms through safe and discreet distribution methods.

We believe that informed communities are empowered communities. By fostering awareness and reducing stigma, we move closer to a future where everyone has equitable access to the healthcare they deserve. ๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’™

On July 25, 2025, the FPOP Sorsogon Chapter actively supported the implementation of the PuroKalusugan initiative in Barangay Genablan Oriental, Matnog, Sorsogon, reaffirming our commitment to delivering accessible and inclusive healthcare services at the community level.
FPOP Sorsogon provided a range of free health services and commodities, including vitamins for pregnant women, Random Blood Sugar (RBS) testing, HIV testing, oral contraceptive pills, condoms, and injectable contraceptives, ensuring that essential healthcare support reached those who need it most.
