🚨 COAST GUARD RESCUE OPERATION SUCCESS 🚨
23 June 2025 | Maasim, Sarangani Province
At 4:50PM, Coast Guard personnel aboard BRP Panglao (FPB-2402) under the helm of LTSG ELTON JOHN L DUMAPLIN PCG successfully rescued two (2) fishermen and retrieved their half-submerged motor banca at approximately 20 Nautical Miles from the shoreline of Maasim, Sarangani Province — in response to a distress report.
Search and rescue operations team composed of SOG-SM personnel aboard RHIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) was launched from BRP Panglao and swiftly proceeded to the location of the distressed banca. Upon reaching the site, the team assessed the situation and successfully rescued both crew members, transferring them safely to the coast guard vessel.
Medical personnel from CGMED-SM and NSSU-SM administered prompt first aid to the rescued individuals, ensuring their health and safety after the ordeal.
Shortly after, towing operations commenced, with the BRP Panglao towing the submerged fishing banca toward the vicinity waters off Daliao, Maasim for a scheduled rendezvous. As of 7:30PM, towing efforts were still ongoing, with all operations proceeding safely and efficiently.
This successful operation highlights the Philippine Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to maritime safety, rapid response, and life-saving missions in our jurisdictional waters.

Coast Guard Medical Clinic Southern Mindanao together with Dr. Paolo Miguel Mabanglo as guest speaker for the troop information and education conducted at Conference Hall, HCGDSM yesterday, Feb 22, 2024. Dr. Mabanglo imparted his valuable insights by sharing ways on how to keep our Heart healthy. "THE HEART IS THE ENGINE OF THE BODY; WITHOUT IT, LIFE WOULD CEASE TO EXIST"

NAVIGATING TOWARDS EXCELLENCE: ADVANCING SKILLS AND ENHANCING PREPAREDNESS
IN PHOTOS: Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao celebrated its 4th Founding Anniversary with theme, "Navigating towards Excellence: Advancing Skills and Enhancing Preparedness" and was presided by the PCG Commandant, CG ADM RONNIE GIL L GAVAN at Family Country Hotel and Convention Centre, General Santos City on 29 November 2023.
The 4th Founding Anniversary celebration of CGDSM not only demonstrated the District's dedication to the PCG's mandates and core functions but also highlighted its accomplishments and capability development through trainings, workshops, and seminars.
The ceremony was graced by CG COMMO MARFE, C, CGDSEM and CG COMMO MENIADO, C, CGDNEM, the second and third Commander of CGDSM respectively. It was also attended by various sectors, including government officials and maritime stakeholders, all of whom shared a common goal of supporting the Coast Guard's mission.
As CGDSM looks into the future, the celebration served as a springboard for the continued growth and innovation, reaffirming the District's commitment to maritime safety, environmental protection, community engagement, and capability development.

BLESSING & RIBBON CUTTING OF CGDSM CONFERENCE ROOM & NON-OFFICERS MULTI-PURPOSE HALL

CG CAPT PANDEAGUA has been very adamant in expanding CGDSM's working space and developing its infrastructural assets to cater the increasing number of Coast Guard personnel assigned in the region.
With the purpose of upgrading and transforming the District to an aesthetically pleasing and breathable working space. The renovation and expansion has enhanced the working environment, boosting administrative and operational productivity of CGDSM in providing maritime services and humanitarian assistance to the people of Southern Mindanao.
Further, CGDSM Annex Building, Barracks and Office Extension, and CGSS Calumpang new office was also inaugurated on the same day.

PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD COMMANDANT ARRIVED AT CGDSM

42 NEW PCGA MEMBERS WERE APPOINTED & 15 PCGA OFFICERS WERE PROMOTED
LOOK: Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao held a Donning & Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly appointed PCGA members and of the newly promoted PCGA at HCGDSM, Makar Wharf, Barangay Labangal, General Santos City on 29 November 2023.
15 PCGA were promoted to the next higher rank and 42 were appointed as new members of the PCGA as they met all the qualifications stipulated in the PCGA Regulations Manual.
Further, the promotees and appointees were also donned and took oath during the ceremony.
Furthermore, AUX CDR ROY P SALUD was officially appointed as the regular Director Auxiliary District, CGADSM.
The ceremony was graced by AUX COMMO DOMINIC SALAZAR, a member of the PCGA Executive Squadron.
