What drives me to advocate health and wellness?
My mother died because of multiple organ failure secondary only from breast cancer in an advanced stage at the age of 60. It was our nightmare. I never imagined her to experience such suffering. For months she was always in pain. And everyday she told me that the pain is getting worst. A week before she died she told me that the pain is already excruciating. Even morphine, the highest pain reliever in the hierarchy, has little effect or none at all. For hours, regardless of day or night, the excruciating pain goes on without respect of whether she has rested or not. It just keep on going and my mom is already crying and gnashing her teeth fighting the pain.
I cry in silent every time I see her intense suffering. If only I can carry her load just to see my dearest loving mother ease from pain. Until such time I prayed to God to free her from her suffering and let her be at peace. It was very painful to ask that. To lose someone who cared for you all those years, through thick and thin of your life and loved you unconditionally is like a stab in the heart.
After all that happened I thank God for giving me a great mom that some dreamed to have like her.
Looking afar and beating my chest, I asked myself, why did it happened to her? It could have been prevented!
