The Midwifery Student Organization (MSO) successfully organized a meaningful and blessed donation drive at Barangay Barancuag, Tuao, Cagayan, with the purpose of extending relief and compassion to families devastated by Typhoon Uwan. The calamity brought severe flooding that washed out homes, destroyed livelihoods, and displaced entire households, leaving the community in urgent need of assistance. In response, the MSO prioritized the welfare of lactating mothers, pregnant women, under-five children and Patients with disability ensuring that their unique needs were met during this difficult time. What made the initiative even more remarkable was the spirit of solidarity and cooperation across different communities, as people came together to help one another regardless of background or affiliation.
The Student Body Organization (SBO), under the leadership of College of Health and Natural Sciences Governor Gideon B. Baswayan, collaborated by donating personal hygiene kits. Alongside the distribution of food, clothing, slippers, shoes, and other necessities, the MSO team offered free blood pressure monitoring and basic first aid services to those injured. To uplift the spirits of children affected by the disaster, the students facilitated fun yet educated games among children, bringing joy and smile on their face with hope amid hardship.
The organization extends its sincerest gratitude to all individuals and families who donated in the form of relief goods, food packs, clothes, slippers, and shoes, as their generosity provided comfort and essential support to those who lost so much in the flood. The success of the drive was made possible through the unity of organizations, families, and volunteers who dedicated their time and resources in repacking, distributing, and ensuring that aid reached those most in need.
This initiative not only provided immediate relief but also demonstrated the power of compassion, generosity, and community solidarity in times of crisis. By working hand in hand, the people of Barangay Barancuag, Tuao, Cagayan showed that even in the face of devastation, kindness and unity can bring comfort, restore hope, and make a lasting difference in rebuilding lives.
