A few days ago, our very own Dr. Carol Almora, present Governor of the Philippine Medical Association - North Eastern Luzon Chapter, delivered a powerful address at the induction of new doctors from the region, in Tabuk City.

Speaking to young doctors from across Kalinga, Apayao, Cagayan, Western Isabela, and Nueva Vizcaya, she reminded us that medicine is more than a profession—it is a sacred calling. She spoke of the unseen burdens physicians carry, the unity we find in the Philippine Medical Association, and the enduring duty to serve with compassion, humility, and faith.

Her words echo the verse she left us with:
“𝘍𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘔𝘢𝘯 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘥, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦…” (𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘬 10:45)

𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐫 𝟔𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲

Today, we honor Dr. Carol Almora —a faithful daughter, steadfast wife, devoted mother, compassionate physician, and inspiring leader—on her 67th birthday.

She cared lovingly for her father until his last day. She has stood by her husband Dr. Jaime Almora through every trial, showing us how faith sustains when challenges grow heavy. As a mother, she raised children who value education and service—Dr. Christine Almora Samuel (Emergency Physician) and Dr. Jay Almora Jr.(Surgeon) —who have returned to serve Kalinga. As a physician, she has cared for patients with deep compassion, remembering them in each prayer. And as a leader, she continues to guide Almora General Hospital with humility and grace, while also serving as the present Governor of the North Eastern Luzon Chapter of the Philippine Medical Association.

Her life is a testimony of Christian values in action, echoing the song once cherished by her father:

On this special day, we celebrate not just her birthday, but the values she sows—faith, love, compassion, and integrity—values that lie at the heart of AGH’s mission of 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗱-𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲.

Last July 26, we held a successful Blood Letting Drive here at Almora General Hospital, in partnership with the Philippine Red Cross – Kalinga Chapter.

Dra. Carolyn Almora, the hardworking team from Red Cross Kalinga, the energetic Rotaract Club of KSU, the SK officials of Barangay Laya East, and our very own AGH community, together with all the individuals who voluntarily donated and supported, came together with one mission: to help save lives through the gift of blood.

Your presence, generosity, and shared commitment made this life-saving event truly meaningful.

This effort is part of our mission to make safe and adequate blood available for those in need. Because one donation can save many lives.
