PuroKalusugan Launching Activity!

Today, Sagkahan District Health Center officially launched the PuroKalusugan in Barangay 59-A Sampaguita --a program initiated by the Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines to deliver essential healthcare services directly to communities at the purok, or neighborhood, level. Bringing healthcare services closer to residents. Purok Kalusugan seeks to reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes .

This initiative is a partnership between the local government, through the City Health Office, the Department of Health, and HappyDocs Medical Clinic and Laboratory, aimed at providing accessible health care to underserved communities.

The program aligns with DOH's Eight Point Action agenda including:

💉Immunization Program
🥗 Nutrition Program
🤰 Maternal Care and Family Planning Program
🎗️ Cancer Awarenes
🦠Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Awareness
🚦 Road Safety
🚽🧴🫧WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene
💊 TB/HIV Services

This activity was conducted under the supervision of our City Health Officer -Dr. Jaime Opinion, Sagkahan District Supervisor -Maam Myla Garcia, with support from Sir Marvin Allen Guy-Joco of DOH Provincial Office for North Leyte, and Hon. Kenneth Mate -Brgy. Chairman of 59-A, whose unwavering support and commitment to community health made this initiative possible.

Special thanks to SAGKAHAN Staff, Midwives, HRH, SHIP, and also to our dedicated barangay health workers, local officials, and partners who made this possible. Together, we take one step forward toward a stronger, healthier Taclobanons!

In Observance of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2025

We remember. We rise. We lead.

The Department of Health Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development through the National HIV, AIDS, and STI Prevention and Control Program in collaboration with Sustained Health Initiatives of the Philippines (SHIP) is committed to increasing awareness, promoting HIV testing, and linking individuals to vital care and support services.

FREE HIV Screening on May 21-23, 2025;
Candle-lighting ceremony on May 22,2025 from 8:00 am with free and confidential HIV screening at 4th Floor Janika Food Center, Downtown Tacloban City.

For those who will undergo HIV Screening will be provided also with:
Lunch, snacks, as well as condoms and lubricants.

We encourage you to invite your friends and peers to take part in this important activity.

Thank you for your continued support. Together, we can end this HIV epidemic.

On this day, Tacloban City Health Office-Sagkahan Distirct Health Center, City Population Office, Brgy. Officials, BHW’s, different Youth Organizations and other Offices joins communities around the world in remembering the lives lost to AIDS, honoring those living with HIV, and recommitting to the global fight against HIV/AIDS.

We REMEMBER those we’ve lost and the legacy they leave behind.

Sagkahan District Health Center proudly celebrated 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, with the theme "Sama-sama para sa mga Ina: Pagpapalakas ng mga komunidad para sa mas Ligtas na Pagbubuntis."💖

A day filled with health lectures, lab tests, and giveaways – all aimed at supporting and educating expectant mothers for a healthy and safe pregnancy journey! 👶✨

Sa mga momshie natin jan kung ikaw ay buntis at wala pang naiisip kung saan manganganak, pwede po kayo sa Sagkahan Health Center, located sa Brgy. 61 Sagkahan Real St. (harani ha Price Gas). Libre pong manganak sa health center basta mayroon po kayo ng sumusunod:

REQUIREMENTS:

✅ Dapat may Active Philhealth (kung walang active philhealth okay lang po)

✅ Dapat 19 years old hanggang 35 years lamang

✅ Dapat ikalawa(2), ikatlo(3), ika-apat (4) na pagbubuntis

✅Hindi naka ranas ng CS o Cesarean section

ADVANTAGES:

✅No need ng pumila para sa Birth Certificate ni baby dahil kami na din ang mag-aasikaso.

✅No need to worry sa Newborn Screening, kasali na siya sa package

✅No More Hassle

QUESTIONS:

📌Student ang magpa anak?
— Registered midwife po. Hindi po estudyante kasi hindi naman po pwede magpa anak ang estudyante

📌Prenatal check up?
— Libre po

📌Panganganak?
— Libre po basta pasok po kayo lahat sa requirements na nasa taas po at meron po kayong active at updated na PhilHealth.

📌Birth certificate ni baby?
— That day po ipa process po namin birth certificate ni baby kaya no worries po mga momshie.

📌Bakuna ni baby?
— Libreng bakuna pagka panganak tulad ng BCG at HEPATITIS B
