Today, I had the great pleasure of being a guest speaker at Molding Minds’ 12th Recognition Day and 2nd Moving-Up Ceremony.

Our working relationship and collaboration began eight years ago—not with Teacher Ira, but when I first opened the clinic and Sir Apyong painted the mural in the old OT room. Prior to Playcare 2.0, that room was home to many milestones, both for the children and for myself, and I will always hold those memories close.

Over the years, we’ve shared students, cross-referred patients, and upheld the same advocacy for inclusive education. Being invited today was a meaningful opportunity to celebrate the children, their growth, and the shared commitment of everyone who continues to support them. Also so fun to see our Playcare babies donning their graduation gowns!

We are incredibly honored and grateful to have been invited by She's Amilia Café to take part in Crazy Socks Day in celebration of Down Syndrome awareness 💙🧦

At Playcare, we work closely with children and families who pour so much love, patience, and strength into each small victory. To see a whole community come together to celebrate these children in such a joyful and accepting way—it honestly means everything.

Behind every colorful pair of socks is a story. A parent who never gave up. A child who keeps trying, no matter how challenging things can be. Progress that may seem small to others, but is monumental to us.

As therapists, we don’t just witness growth—we feel it with the families. We celebrate every step, every word, every breakthrough. That’s why being part of this day is so special. It reminds us that these children are seen, valued, and embraced exactly as they are.

This initiative is also close to our hearts as it supports their “Send A Child to Therapy” campaign—helping provide therapy services to children who need it most.

I recently attended the 60th Founding Anniversary of the Philippine Academy of Occupational Therapists, Inc. (PAOT), and it turned out to be a meaningful experience. Aside from the opportunity to network, it was refreshing to learn from senior therapists, ask for guidance on specific clinical situations, and discover upcoming seminars and trainings that can support my growth in the profession. Listening to the speakers and seeing how far Occupational Therapy has come over the years was truly inspiring.

Events like this highlight the importance of attending conventions and professional gatherings. They keep us updated with current trends and best practices, broaden our perspectives, and remind us of the bigger picture of our work. As someone who primarily practices in a private clinic but also collaborates closely with government activities these events are especially valuable. They help me bridge both worlds—bringing clinical insights into community programs, while also integrating community needs into the services we provide at the clinic.

With that said, I’m sharing some of the quotable quotes from the talks that resonated with me—statements that I feel speak not just to my personal practice, but also to the goals we collectively strive for in our collaborations with the communities we serve.

While society often demands that children sit still and stay contained, we know that kids are designed to move. Movement is how they make sense of the world, build strength, and discover their capabilities.

Inspired by Physical:Asia, we wanted to bring team work, muscle power, collaboration, confidence and joy in movement inside the clinic and boy was it a lot of fun! 💪 🏃‍♂️🤸⛹🏽‍♂️🏋🏽‍♂️🧗🏼‍♂️
