𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟒 𝐢𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐲!

In celebration of World Diabetes Day, the Eastern Visayas Medical Center conducted a health education session at the Outpatient Department (OPD) to equip patients with essential knowledge on diabetes prevention, early detection, and proper disease management.

The activity featured a multi-disciplinary panel of speakers who highlighted the importance of a holistic approach to diabetes care.

Ms. Peachie Alvarez, Ms. Bianca Danille De Veyra, and Mr. Jeth Adrian Coritana from the Rehabilitation Medicine Department discussed the vital role of regular physical exercise in controlling blood sugar and improving overall health. Ms. Amana Kessan Cabugwang from the Nutrition and Dietetics Section provided practical guidance on healthy eating and proper nutrition for diabetes prevention and management.

Morever, Dr. Dennis Esquivel, Head of Family Medicine, delivered a comprehensive discussion on the symptoms, risk factors, and available treatment options for diabetes, while Dr. Randy Saavedra, Head of the Public Health Unit shared valuable insights on alternative healthcare practices that may complement conventional management.

Through this initiative, EVMC reaffirms its commitment to raising awareness, empowering patients, and promoting healthier communities as part of its observance of World Diabetes Day.

Narito ang ilang hakbang para mapanatiling ligtas ang pamilya sa bahay:

✅ Ihanda ang Emergency Go Bag
✅ I-charge ang mga gadget at power bank
✅ Siguraduhing nakasara ang mga pinto at bintana
✅ Itabi at ayusin ang mga gamit sa loob ng bahay
✅ Patayin ang kuryente at LPG kung may pagbaha

Alamin ang sitwasyon at palaging makinig sa mga abiso ng inyong lokal na pamahalaan para sa tamang aksyon sa panahon ng bagyo.

💡Tandaan: Ang kahandaan ngayon ay kaligtasan bukas!

📣 𝐄𝐕𝐌𝐂 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐲𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐧 "𝐓𝐢𝐧𝐨" 📣

In view of Typhoon “Tino”, the Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC) is hereby placed under Code White Alert.

As part of the hospital’s preparedness measures, the Outpatient Department (OPD) shall be on standby to serve as a temporary Emergency Room in the event that the current temporary facility sustains damage.

Please be advised that the EVMC grounds cannot accommodate evacuees from nearby community, as these areas are reserved for surge capacity, expanded healthcare services, and emergency operations during and after the typhoon.

To ensure safety and maintain smooth hospital operations, effective 3:00 PM today, November 3, 2025, the following adjustments shall take effect:
•Gate 3 will be CLOSED until further notice.
•All ENTRANCE shall be through Gate 1.
•All EXIT shall be through Gate 2.

Your cooperation and understanding are deeply appreciated as we implement precautionary measures for the safety of all.
