The following road section is currently NOT PASSABLE to all types of vehicles due to a road slip caused by Tropical Storm “ADA”:

➡️Arteche–Jipapad–Las Navas–Rawis Road
📍Brgy. 01 Poblacion, Jipapad, Eastern Samar, K0980+360 BL

Cause: Road slip affecting approximately 497.25 sq.m.

Condition: Both lanes not passable

DPWH personnel are continuously monitoring the affected area, with maintenance crews on standby for immediate response.

🚨FLASH ALARM | MISSING PERSON 🚨

👤 Name: Fr. Edwin "Kutz" Caintoy
🎂 Age: 55 years old
⚧ S*x: Male
⛪ Position: Parish Priest, San Jose de Malibago Parish
🏠 Address: Brgy. Malangto, Abuyog, Leyte

📍 Last Seen:
🕘 Around 9:08 AM, December 23, 2025

👕 Physical Description:
• Height: Approx. 5’6”
• Build: Large-built
• Complexion: Fair
• Clothing: White clerical polo, black slacks
• Carrying a black sling bag

🧭 Background Information:
Based on the report, Fr. Caintoy was last seen on December 23, 2025. He allegedly traveled to Brgy. 108, Tagpuro, Tacloban City aboard an orange RUSI motorcycle (without sidecar) driven by his sacristan, Janriel Pelapel.

Upon arrival in Tagpuro, he boarded a NORBATCO passenger bus (Bus No. 0085, Plate No. GAW 7651) driven by Felepe R. Posos. The bus was bound for Tacloban City.

Fr. Caintoy reportedly disembarked at the corner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church along Quezon Boulevard, Tacloban City. At around 9:52 AM, he was captured on CCTV from VSYS Department Store, walking toward Robinsons North Tacloban. Since then, his whereabouts remain unknown, and he has not returned up to this time.

ONGOING CLEARING OPERATIONS AT BRGY. BINALOAN, TAFT.

The DPWH Eastern Samar District Engineering Office (ESDEO) informs the public that clearing operations are ongoing at Brgy. Binaloan, Taft, Eastern Samar due to a rockfall incident with an estimated volume of 0.35 cubic meter of debris.

Both lanes remain passable to all types of vehicles. However, motorists, particularly those driving small vehicles, are advised to take extra caution when traversing the area as the road surface remains muddy and slippery.

Maintenance Personnel continues to monitor road conditions, and subsequent updates will be posted as necessary.

ALL NATIONAL ROADS IN EASTERN SAMAR ARE PASSABLE TO ALL TYPES OF VEHICLES

At around 9:30 pm, a minor rockfall incident was reported in Barangay Binaloan, Taft, Eastern Samar with an estimated volume of 0.02 cubic meter. The affected section remains open to traffic. However, motorists are advised to take extra caution due to rockfall caused by soil saturation from continuous moderate to heavy rain.

All maintenance crews, drivers, and heavy equipment operators are on standby for quick response to any eventualities.

The DPWH Eastern Samar District Engineering Office continues to monitor road conditions, and subsequent updates will be posted as necessary.
