Sometimes we think ministry only happens outside our home—we are kind to strangers, help many people, and show love to others, but we forget that our family is our first ministry.

God often calls us to start at home. How we love our parents, siblings, and those under our roof matters deeply to Him. The Bible reminds us, “Honor your father and your mother” (Exodus 20:12), and when we obey this, we are serving God and ministering to our family at the same time.

Serving our family doesn’t have to be grand—it can be helping without being asked, speaking gently, offering forgiveness, praying silently for them, or simply choosing love over frustration.

These small acts done with a willing heart honor God, strengthen our home, and show that the greatest ministry can begin right where we live.

A lot of things have been happening in the Philippines, earthquakes and natural disasters. I had a conversation with my wife about how we could prepare, just in case it hits us. She was so worried and afraid, and in my mind, I found myself thinking, “Why does she have so little faith? Why worry? God will save us.”
But then, God gently corrected my arrogant heart.

You see,
We are not saved because we never doubt.
We are not saved because we have the highest reverence.
We are not saved because we feel what we should be feeling.
Yes, there are times when God will test our faith, and sometimes, our faith will break.
But even then, we are not saved by the strength of our faith.
We are saved by the strength of our Savior.
Our assurance is not built on our performance.
It is grounded in the blood of the Lamb.

That moment reminded me of the story of the Passover.
I imagined some of them being afraid, others at peace, and some even celebrating. Maybe a few were not as faithful, and perhaps even an enemy disguised as an Israelite was there. Some didn’t feel worthy.
But it wasn’t who they were or what they felt that saved them; it was the blood.
We break. We doubt. We panic. But the blood? Still enough. Always enough.

This is a reminder for you to not give up.

Perhaps you feel so tired of everything that you are going through right now, but I want to remind you that you've come this far. You went through a lot in life, but here you are—still surviving and trying every day. I know that it took everything in you to keep going. You may have experienced so much pain and hardship, but try to look yourself in the mirror, and you will see a brave person in front of you. Look how brave you are for choosing to keep going even though you had all the reasons to give up on yourself.

I'd like to remind you that most situations and feelings are only temporary, so be patient. You've already invested so much of yourself in every silent battle that you have faced alone. You've already been hurt a lot, cried enough, and picked yourself up over and over again. It may seem like your suffering never ends, but I'd still remind you right now that escaping from it will never make everything alright. So no matter how hard it is to go on with your life, please don't try to give up. You may need to rest or take a break whenever you feel like the world is so tiring, but at the end of the day, I hope you will have the courage to still continue your journey in life.

So go feel everything and rest your heart and mind, but please don't ever give up.

Your everyday story may feel like an endless cycle of sleepless nights and heavy burdens,

Darating din ang araw na makikita mo ang lahat ng pinagpaguran mo, at masasabi mong:

“God, thank You for not letting me fall every time worry tried to creep in.
Thank You for being faithful even when I wasn’t. Your footprints have been on my back. God, this is what You prepared me for. This is what I prayed for…”

Just keep fighting. Keep enduring.
Keep walking. You have no idea how close you are to everything you’ve been praying and waiting for. You may not see the light in your progress yet, but you’re almost there. You’re gonna make it—trust me.

Konting-konti na lang! Remind yourself of this promise from God:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
