Did you know?

Diets high in animal products can increase iron load in the liver, leading to oxidative stress. This process contributes to Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) progression and liver inflammation.
Choosing more plant-based foods can help reduce oxidative stress and support liver healing. 🌱

Sugar sweetened drinks, like soda, significantly increase your risk of kidney stones.🤕

Why is this?

Well, like many things, the answer is complicated. All the sugar in soda can increase the amount of lots of harmful things in your urine. Calcium, uric acid and oxalate are biggies.

WHAT!? Oxalate!? You may be thinking.

Yep! Although soda contains essentially ZERO oxalate, it might be able to raise urine oxalate levels. This is why it is SO important to understand that kidney stone prevention is not necessarily about a low oxalate diet.

🍃A (BIG!) source of oxalate in the body is oxalate made in your liver. Your liver can make oxalate from a variety of things. One of these things is fructose, which is found in VERY high amounts in soda.

🥤If you love bubbly drinks (as I do!), you are much better off choosing unsweetened sparkling water.

🔥 Think high cholesterol is just “bad genes”? Think again.

For most people, cholesterol levels aren’t written in stone—they’re shaped by daily choices. What you eat, how you move, and the habits you build can have a powerful impact on your heart health. 💙🌱

The good news? Small, plant-forward shifts can help support healthier blood lipid levels—no extremes required. Think more whole foods, more fiber, more color on your plate… and meals you actually enjoy.

🥗 Start with your next bite: What plant-powered swap could you make today that your heart would thank you for?
