In an inspiring visit focused on environmental stewardship, we recently connected with Sister Connie Gacutan, ICM, Past Principal of Saint Augustine’s School (SAS), Tagudin Ilocos Sur and Sister Ma. Paz Dela Paz ICM, Treasurer of both SAS and Christ the King College San Fernando City, La Union.

Our conversation centered around the active promotion of plastic and glass upcycling, an initiative aimed at reducing waste and creating sustainable opportunities for schools & our communities.

Through these discussions, we shared insights into our upcycling advocacy and explored ways to bring our vision to life within their institutions. Sister Connie’s & Sister Paz’s enthusiasm and commitment to environmental care align perfectly with our goals, and we discussed various creative projects to repurpose plastic and glass materials into functional items. This collaboration represents a promising step forward, as schools play a pivotal role in fostering environmental consciousness among students.

With the shared support of CKC & SAS, we are hopeful that this upcycling advocacy will continue to gain momentum, inspiring the next generation to embrace sustainability and environmental responsibility.
