“NCD PROVINCIAL HEALTH AUTHORITY AND BSP OFFICIALLY REOPEN 9 MILE CLINIC AFTER RENOVATION”
The National Capital District Provincial Health Authority (NCDPHA) proudly announces the official reopening of 9 Mile Clinic following an eight-week closure for major renovations. The refurbishment was made possible through the generous support of the Bank of South Pacific (BSP), which funded the project with K60,000 through its Finance & Strategy Division and Treasury Division as part of BSP’s ongoing community projects.
The renovation works were successfully carried out by Roma Construction, whose professionalism and commitment ensured the clinic was restored to a high standard, ready to serve the community once again.
The Head of Marketing and Sales at BSP Mr. Perryson Miori, stated: “BSP is committed to supporting communities across Papua New Guinea. The renovation of 9 Mile Clinic reflects our dedication to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring families have access to quality care. Strong partnerships between the private sector and public institutions are vital for building healthier communities.”
This initiative underscores the importance of public private partnerships in strengthening healthcare services and delivering safe, reliable facilities for the people of Port Moresby.
Sr. Maria Runanae, Manager of 9 Mile Clinic, expressed: “We are grateful for the support from BSP, NCDPHA, and Roma Construction. This renovation has transformed our clinic, creating a safer and more welcoming environment for patients. I appeal to the people of 9 Mile and surrounding communities to take good care of this facility and respect our staff, so together we can continue delivering quality healthcare.”
The Chief Executive Officer of NCDPHA, Dr. Robin Oge, added: “The reopening of 9 Mile Clinic is a testament to the power of collaboration. We commend BSP for its leadership in supporting community health projects and Roma Construction for their excellent work. NCDPHA remains committed to working with partners to strengthen healthcare delivery and ensure every resident of the National Capital District has access to essential services.”
