Dasmariรฑas City health officials visited the Taguig Center for Women and Children on Tuesday, May 26, to study the cityโs healthcare programs, facilities, and service delivery systems as part of a benchmarking activity.
The visit allowed the delegation from the Dasmariรฑas City Health Office to observe Taguigโs healthcare operations and learn about programs that may be adopted in their own city, particularly in women and child healthcare services.
Taguig City Administrator Dr. Cecile Montales, Taguig-Pateros District Hospital Chief Dr. Timoteo Neil Trinidad, Taguig City General Hospital Chief Dr. Marie Irene Sy, and City Health Officer Dr. Susana Amiscua welcomed the delegation and led a tour of the facility.
During the visit, delegates were introduced to the Centerโs facilities and services, including the OB-GYN emergency and maternity care units, diagnostics section, High-Risk Pregnancy Unit (HRPU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), cancer care unit, administrative offices, and rooftop garden.
In his remarks, Dr. Trinidad said patient-centered care remains the foundation of the Center for Women and Childrenโs services:
โMadalas kasi ang tinatanong nila: Ano ba ang sikreto ng pagpapatakbo ng ating Center for Women and Children? Sa totoo lang, wala pong sikreto. Sa katunayan, mayroon lamang kaming sinusunod na pormulaโang pagbibigay ng kahalagahan sa aming mga pasyente. We put our patients firstโsila po ang hari, sila ang dapat nasusunod. Ang ginagawa natin ay ibinibigay ang lahat ng kanilang pangangailangan, at higit pa sa inaasahan nila. Iyan lang po ang simpleng pormula na ginagamit natin."
Representing Mayor Lani Cayetano, Councilor Ivie Dizon, chairperson of the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality, thanked the delegation for choosing the Center for Women and Children for the benchmarking activity:
A question-and-answer session followed the tour and an exchange of ideas on operational strategies, laboratory equipment, and healthcare services.
The activity concluded with the awarding of certificates of appreciation and the presentation of tokens to the delegates from Dasmariรฑas City, led by City Health Officer Dr. Mary Anne Barzaga and Pagamutan ng Dasmariรฑas Hospital Administrator Dr. Benedicto Pascual Jr.
