This February, we observe Cancer Preventive Awareness Month, and we invite you to join us in .

At B. Braun Philippines, we are dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families. We also partner with experts in oncology, such as the Philippine Oncology Nurses Association, Inc. (PONA), to provide continuing education aimed at equipping cancer care providers with competencies that will help protect and improve the lives of oncology patients. We firmly believe that by working together, we can make a positive impact and contribute towards a future where no one has to suffer from this disease.

In line with this commitment, we are pleased to announce a blended workshop through our educational arm, the Aesculap Academy. The CANCER CHEMOTHERAPY COURSES FOR NURSES AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS will be held from February 2 to February 4. This workshop aims to equip nurses and other allied health professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to provide safe and high-quality care for cancer patients.

We highly encourage healthcare professionals to take advantage of this valuable learning opportunity. This course will not only enhance your skills and knowledge but also make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.

SHARING EXPERTISE AND CREATING NEW POSSIBILITIES

The National Kidney Foundation Singapore (NKF) and B. Braun Singapore (BBSG) recently organized a three-day visit and meeting in the Philippines to address chronic kidney disease. They aimed to share expertise, create connections, and explore collaborations. The NKF is a non-profit organization dedicated to renal care, while BBSG provides medical products and services. During the visit, they discussed the benefits of the ECOmix Revolution System, a medical technology used in dialysis treatment. The NKF also explored partnerships with BBSG and Filipino hospitals for nursing rotations and medical training. This collaboration showcases how public-private partnerships can address healthcare challenges, particularly in the face of increasing demand for renal care. Overall, this partnership aims to improve the lives of individuals with chronic kidney disease and drive innovation in renal care.

Your Expertise:
■ Registered Nurse with a valid PRC License
■ At least 1-year nursing experience
■ Experience in hemodialysis, an advantage but not required
■ With basic computer skills
■ High degree of customer orientation
■ Self-directed and performs duties independently
■ Highly organized with strong attention to detail
■ Fast learner with high tolerance to a fast-paced environment and multiple tasks

Purpose of the Job:
■ Performs hemodialysis treatment and carries out doctor’s orders
■ Provides patient education applicable to the patient’s medical condition
■ Works with Dialysis Technicians in the treatment preparation of dialysis machines
■ Works with Head Nurse and Administrative Assistant in records maintenance, treatment scheduling, and overall orderliness in the Dialysis Clinic.

In celebration of World Kidney Day themed "Kidney Health for All". Together, let’s raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys, we asked our B. Braun juniors a few questions about the kidneys. Let’s learn from their answers in this video compilation.

1. WHERE ARE YOUR KIDNEYS?
The two bean-shaped organs are located at the lower back, just below the rib cage, and one on each side of the spine.

2. HOW BIG ARE YOUR KIDNEYS?
Each kidney is about the size of a fist.

3. DO YOU KNOW WHAT OUR KIDNEYS DO?
Kidneys are responsible for the removal of waste products from the body, regulation of the body’s fluids, and secretion of a number of essential hormones.

4. HOW MANY GLASSES OF WATER SHOULD YOU DRINK IN A DAY?
An adequate daily fluid intake depends on age, gender, weight, activity level, and more. Health experts commonly recommend for most adults to drink about 2 liters per day.
