Not all whitening products are safe. Before buying online or in store, check with FDA website or ask your dermatologist about. Healthy skin is still the best.👍🏼

Over the years, the FDA has banned many whitening creams for containing toxic levels of mercury, but some still continue to be sold in our country. Mercury can cause damage to the skin, nervous system, and kidneys.

How will you know if your whitening cream is safe? Check doh.gov.ph and read up on news reports for the list of banned products.

Be wary of products with dubious labels and no ingredients listed. Buy only reputable brands from trusted sources.

If still in doubt, seek the light and ask your PDS dermatologist!

“Chicken skin” is not in 🐔

“Chicken skin” is a common condition due to plugging of follicles of our skin. It is common in children and can improve by late adolescence but is often persistent. It is strongly associated with several skin conditions such as ichthyosis vulgaris and atopic dermatitis.
