Philippines Independence Day, also known as Araw ng Kalayaan in Filipino, is celebrated annually in the Philippines on June 12. It commemorates the Philippines’ independence from Spain on June 12, 1898, after more than three centuries of colonial rule. It is a significant day for Filipinos to reflect on their history, culture, and national identity. Besides, it reaffirms the ideals of freedom, democracy, and sovereignty of the Philippines.
