🦠💩 Did you know? Ang rotavirus ay isang nakakahawang virus na nagdudulot ng matinding pagtatae, pagsusuka, lagnat, at dehydration sa mga sanggol at bata. Mabilis itong makahawa at pwedeng magdulot ng pagkaka-confine sa ospital—lalo na sa mga batang 5 years old pababa!

💉 Ang Rotavirus vaccine ang proteksyon ng baby mo laban dito!
✅ Binibigay oral (iniinom, hindi ini-inject!)
✅ Pwedeng simulan sa edad na 6 weeks old
✅ May 2 o 3 doses depende sa brand
✅ 4 weeks ang pagitan ng bawat dose at dapat makumpleto bago mag-6 to 8 months old / 12 months old (depende sa type ng vaccine)

📆 Importante ang timing! Kapag nahuli sa schedule, hindi na ito pwedeng ibigay for safety reasons.

👶 Side effects? Usually mild lang—pwedeng maging iritable si baby, mild diarrhea, o lagnat. May very rare risks kaya mainam na ikonsulta muna sa inyong trusted pediatrician bago magpabakuna. 💬

We would like to gently remind our Barangay Health Centers and fellow healthcare workers that oral polio vaccine (OPV) and rotavirus vaccine can be given together or in close succession. Hindi po kailangang ipagpaliban ang isa para matapos muna ang isa—both vaccines are safe to be administered without unnecessary delays.

As a pediatrician, I have also encountered instances where patients were advised to return after several weeks before receiving their other scheduled vaccines. To help avoid missed opportunities, I now provide written notes for my patients to present during their visits.

Our goal is the same: to protect every child on time. We hope everyone involved in immunization services stays updated with the latest recommended schedules to ensure smooth and timely vaccination for all.

PS. I hope they also inform parents regarding the vaccines na hindi inooffer sa barangay, pati na rin need ng boosters after 1 year old.
