💖 VALENTINE’S DAY

February 14

❤️ Please be careful with your HEART ❤️

Love yourself by protecting your heart health!

Broken heart syndrome, or stress cardiomyopathy, is a temporary, reversible heart condition often triggered by intense emotional (grief, fear, anger) or physical stress, causing sudden, severe chest pain and breathlessness that mimics a heart attack.

Symptoms of Broken Heart Syndrome

Symptoms often appear suddenly after extreme stress and include:
Intense chest pain (angina).
Shortness of breath.
Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia).
Dizziness or fainting.

Causes and Triggers

The exact cause is unclear but thought to be a surge in stress hormones like adrenaline that temporarily damages the heart muscle. Key triggers include:
Emotional Stress: Grief from a loved one's death, severe arguments, fear, or surprise.
Physical Stress: Serious illness, surgery, high fever, stroke, or seizures.

Duration and Outlook

Broken heart syndrome is usually temporary, with most people recovering completely within days to a few weeks. While most cases are not fatal, it can cause severe short-term heart muscle failure, necessitating medical care, usually in a hospital.

❤️ “This Valentine’s Day, love your heart as much as you love others.” ❤️
