7 Healthy Signs You Are Raising a Happy Child

Not perfect.

Not always smiling.

But genuinely happy.

1. They feel safe to express emotions
They cry, they get upset…
but they don’t hide it from you.

Because they know—
it’s safe to feel at home.

2. They still seek you
Even when they can do things on their own…
they still come back to you.

To share.
To ask.
To be with you.

3. They can play on their own
They don’t need gadgets all the time.

They create.
They imagine.
They enjoy simple things.

4. They laugh easily
Not because life is perfect…
but because their heart is light.

5. They show kindness—even in small ways
They share.
They help.
They notice others.

Because kindness is something they see every day.

6. They are not afraid to try
They may fail.
They may get frustrated.

We put so much pressure on ourselves to be the perfect leader, the perfect team member, the perfect parent, or the perfect friend. But perfection is a heavy weight that no one was meant to carry.

This Friday, let’s trade "Perfectionism" for Self-Compassion. Accept the messy desk, the cubicle chaos, the missed plans, or the "it’ll do" dinner. You don't have to be perfect to be impactful. In fact, your most "human" moments are often where you lead and love the best.

You showed up. You tried. You cared. That is more than enough for one week. Now, go enjoy the weekend—unfiltered and unapologetic. 💙

From being completely non-verbal to waving "hi" and imitating vowel sounds—these are the milestones that build a bridge to a brighter future.

Wala bang eye contact ang anak mo?

Hindi rin ba siya nagco-communicate?

Iyak lang ba siya ng iyak?

Hindi ka nag-iisa.

Maraming magulang ang dumaan sa ganitong sitwasyon—nalilito, napapagod, at minsan nawawalan ng pag-asa.

Pero may magandang balita.

Bagong araw, bagong pag-asa!

Samahan niyo ako sa kwento ng isang magulang na sa loob ng 1 month with SMLC Program, nakakita na ng improvement sa anak niya.

Minsan, hindi natin kailangan ng perpektong simula—kailangan lang natin ng tamang gabay at tamang approach.

At baka ito na ang simula ng pagbabago para sa anak mo.

We often end the week focusing on the gaps—the emails we didn't send, the chores we skipped, the goals we "almost" reached. We treat our to-do list like a scorecard of our worth.

Real talk: You can be a masterpiece and a work-in-progress at the same time.

Self-acceptance is looking at your "Unfinished Business" and saying, "It's okay to leave this here for now." You don't have to be 'completed' to be valuable. Give yourself the same grace you give a friend who’s having a tough week.

Accept that you are enough, even with things left undone. 💙
