In TCM, the 7 emotions are considered internal causes of disease. Each one directly affects a specific organ when experienced excessively or over a long period of time.
This is not about feeling sad or angry for a day. This is about chronic, unresolved emotional states that disrupt Qi and Blood flow and eventually create patterns of disharmony.
😅 OVER-EXCITEMENT → Heart
Scattered Shen, palpitations, insomnia, manic behaviour, inability to focus
HT 7 - calms the Shen
😡 ANGER (frustration + resentment) → Liver
Liver Qi Stagnation, headaches, hypochondriac pain, irregular periods, rising Liver Yang
LV 2 - clears Liver Heat, descends rising Yang
😟 WORRY / OVERTHINKING → Spleen + Lung
Spleen Qi Deficiency, bloating, poor digestion, fatigue, pensiveness that won't resolve
SP 5 - resolves worry, strengthens Spleen
😢 SADNESS / GRIEF → Lung + Heart
Lung Qi dissipates, chest tightness, shallow breathing, low immunity, emotional disconnection
LU 7 - releases and descends Lung Qi, opens the chest
😨 FEAR (chronic) → Kidney
Kidney Qi descends, lower back weakness, urinary issues, lack of willpower
KD 4 - stabilizes Kidney Qi, addresses fear
😱 SHOCK (sudden) → Heart + Kidney
Shen disturbed, palpitations, anxiety, insomnia, startles easily
DU 26 - resuscitates the Shen, calms sudden shock
