This second week of August is an Asthma week!

Asthma is a disease that affects the lungs. It is one of the most common long-term diseases of children. Asthma causes repeated episodes of wheezing, breathlessness, chest tightness, and nighttime or early morning coughing. An asthma attack can occur when someone with asthma is exposed to things in the environment, such as house dust mites and to***co smoke. These are called asthma triggers.

Here are some things to do to help alleviate or prevent an asthma attack:
1.Always carry your prescription/ asthma medication with you at all times. Use or take it according to the scheduled time and be aware of the early signs of its attack.
2. Do not smoke or distance yourself from second-hand smoke.
3. Manage your weight.
4. Avoid medications, foods or things that cause asthma symptoms.
5. Get vaccinated against flu, pneumonia and COVID-19.

In accordance with the Executive Order (EO) in question, it is hereby conveyed that all established medical protocols are henceforth lifted, with the exception of the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) pertaining to vaccines and the payment of outstanding dues for the Health Emergency Allowance. The validity period of the former shall be extended for an additional year, allowing for the depletion of remaining vaccine supplies. Consequently, the requirement for wearing masks in public transportation and other settings as specified in EO 7 is now considered rescinded from a technical standpoint.

Most people who get dengue won’t have symptoms. But for those that do, the most common symptoms are high fever, headache, body aches, nausea and rash. Some people develop severe dengue and need care in hospital.
