🌟 Empowering ALS Teachers to Support Learners in Crisis 🌟

Hiraya-Diwa Psychological Services recently held a meaningful learning session for our dedicated Alternative Learning System (ALS) teachers, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to identify and support learners facing crisis and emotional distress.

This initiative was driven by the belief that every educator is also a frontline mental health advocate, and with the right tools and heart, they can transform lives.

We sincerely thank Dr. Leila Ibita for her invaluable support in making this session possible. Deep appreciation also goes to the LGU of Tagum City, the passionate peer facilitator volunteers from UM Tagum, and most especially to our committed psychologists-in-training from San Pedro College who generously shared their time and expertise.

On July 12, 2025, Hiraya-Diwa Psychological Services organized a live learning session for clinical interns from Ateneo de Davao University and San Pedro College. The session served as a foundational preparation for their clinical exposure, equipping them with essential skills for working with clients and managing the responsibilities that come with their roles.

The training covered key areas such as ethics, core counseling skills, integrated psychological report writing, and crisis management, all aimed at enhancing the interns' clinical proficiency and ethical practice. Resource speakers for the session, Mr. Johnny Rey Cañete and Mr. Silvino Josol, provided valuable insights and expertise, offering the interns practical tools to apply in their future work.

This initiative reflects Hiraya-Diwa’s commitment to fostering professional growth among future mental health professionals, ensuring that they are well-prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of clinical practice.
